Determining the appropriate temperature for your reptile's basking area depends on several factors, including the type and strength of UVB lighting you're using. If you're employing a linear T5 bulb with a 5.0 or 6% UVB strength, the recommended distance between the basking area and the light source is typically around 8-9 inches. As for the basking bulb wattage, achieving an ideal temperature of 80°F requires some experimentation. Ambient room temperatures and other variables come into play, so there's no one-size-fits-all solution. From personal experience, I've found that a 60-watt bulb works well for my enclosures. Starting with this wattage allows you to gauge the temperature output and adjust accordingly to ensure your reptile's comfort.

Hi Guys,
I'm preparing to order a new cage for my chameleon and will need a feeder holder. Currently, I'm exploring different options for feeding my chameleon. I'm also interested in trying out various feeders but unsure where to find them or what types to use. Can you share your experience feeding your chameleon and advice on feeder options?

I have a full throttle feeder but it’s open concept. Works great for me with one cham, not the other. Crickets get out and it’s dark deep down where the bugs are being lined black. Frams chams has some decent feeders as well.

I would agree! My throttle feeder is amazing! But sometimes I do notice my girl doesn’t find the still small roaches and bsfl

Can you get her to cup feed? I prefer that because
1-no escapees in the cage
2 you directly monitor how much is eaten
3-You can control supplements better versus crickets that have time to preen them off in a feeder cup
4- It helps acclimate your cham to you and see you as a positive thing
