How to open mouth for a force feed with our Jackson

Be carefull that his cage doesn't overheat being in front of a window. I think Jacksons require a lower temp than vieled or panthers. I hope you and your vet can save him.

    force feeding

Any tips on how to get cham to open his mouth to try to get a syringe with food in? Scareing him only works for one moment and is not repeatable. Tryiny to force their mouth open seems tough. Spraying water is not working either.

Infestation. Not sure what to do.

maybe place some kind of box inside the cage with food for the crickets in it and scoop it out before they can get out. May take many times doing it to get them all.

Mr. Colors Intro and show & tell (Pic Heavy)

Great collection, nice job with the waterfall, really cool. I would be worried about the cat, their great hunters and smart enough to get at most cages.

Female Veiled. Getting a bit worried.

I'm no expert but your setup and care seems pretty good. Look at her closely for any visible problems, any cuts or brusies, look thin or fat, mouth or eye infections, bent limbs. With a problem like this a trip to the vet would be my recommendation. Check fecal sample for parasites and a proper...

    Best Chameleon Complete Setup?

i ordered mail order and mistakenly got a non wire mesh cage package when i thought i ordered a screen cage from LLL. I kept it for an outdoor setup. In person you shouldnt have that issue. LLL has very good prices.

    Tips on cricket proofing

You can also use landscape netting to keep the cham from eating the soil. It's good also at the bottom inside of the pot to keep dirt from washing out. The smallest roll will outlast your normal lifespan but it's cheap at the Home Depot.

    my translucent veiled

I kind of agree with Lumbaslammer even thought i have bought gene altered glofish [zebra dannios with jellyfish genes to make them orange, green, yellow]. Messing with nature especially for the only reason being astectics seems unnecessary and potentially dangerous. There are so many worse...

    New Cham coming today!

What kind of cham and where did you buy. Also hello and good luck with him/her.

    How far can chameleons see?

I would assume they probably have much better eyesite than humans. Their survival is very dependant on sight. Lets face it most birds, mammals, and snakes could easily overpower a cham, their only real defense is their ability to hide. They have to spot their prey before it spots them, their not...

    So my mom shut up.

you have to humour your parents, she probably thinks your a know it all who never listens to her. The pressure of raising a family and providing food, cllothing and shelter for them can turn them into monsters. You'll understand when your old and grey.

    Lizzards as a feeder!!!!!

"I'm actually quite surprised at these responses. I would think people with so many posts and thus knowledge/experience would know that by NOT feeding our chameleons other reptiles is HARMING them." I don't believe this to be the case. How someone could make this call without data/proof is...
