Still a bit early to tell, the blues on mine usually get obvious undertones by around 5-6 months and are more vivid with each shed by 8-9 months reds start to pop.
I think the precautionary meds may have hurt more than helped, its good her fecal came back negative that rules out some potential issues. My priority would be to try and keep her stress levels down at this point, if you have a knowledgeable vet you can go to I would take her but unless you know...
Tried to get some red nail shots of mine for you @jajeanpierre not as red as they were outside in the spring but still looking good inside. The colors are pretty accurate at least viewing these from my phone. Both shots are Brienne, Tormund's are tinted red but not as dark as hers are.
I've had a Panther female lay 4 clutches from a single pairing, each smaller than the one prior and the last one had about 1/4 slugs. 5-8wks apart for mine.
What are you taking the pictures on? Your phone? I use photobucket it lets you upload full size files free and link to them or download them from another machine. No loss of quality from original image, problem with email is that it often compresses the file and you loss data and image quality.
Hahaha good for you, I've tried to do this with only moderate succes. You can use the bin they are in to raise them and just get/ use another for your feeder size ones. A friend uses 4 bins total and has been breeding them for awhile by just letting 30-40 make it to adulthood and breed I believe...
I love it. Great job, I've been experimenting with altering lighting intensity as well and haven't noticed much of a behavior change in the chameleons and it's definitely cheaper not to run everything all 12hrs.
So good! Here's little John Targaryen (King of the North) he's been quite the confident little one so far. Climbing out of his feeder cup after a successful battle with some BSF larvae.
That was my favorite as well! Got a few more pics this week to share, glad to report her edema has gone down considerably the last few days hoping that continues to improve. Also forgot to post that we ended up naming the pair Tormund and Brienne ( GOT nerds I know lol we have three chameleons...
I use hot glue on the back, it peels off without pulling out the screen later if you want to remove but is more than enough to hold the weight of the chameleon climbing on wall.
Very sorry for your loss. I would get a necropsy done, even if it was impaction personally doubt it was a super worm. The chameleon showed signs of severe dehydration and since you just got it so you don't know what issues could have been lingering beforehand. A necropsy should give you a...
Sounds like a difficult situation and things have already gone downhill. The eyes should have been open from the start, how did it eat since its been with you if they are closed? At that age they typically eat about 10 FF or pinheads a few times a day. Make sure the humidity is up and give an...
Thank you Jeremy they are getting plenty of attention, fingers crossed I can get them healthy and happy. Would love to see this species breeding in captivity in the near future.
Search feature will get you a long ways, plenty of threads and blogs on this forum addressing the topic, in short that will not work. You will be using a sealed container to hold moisture and a moist incubation medium to keep the eggs in. I use small sterilite containers and moist vermiculite as...
Either way works, as long as you can keep them in a stable environment inside the temp range then your ok. The Chinese made incubators on the market are not very good and you'll need to keep a close eye on temps if you use one. I've had a one fail in less than a year and have read about others...
