Opinions on my baby Panther?

Hey community

This is Cypress. You may have seen him scattered around some posts here and there or in this month's photo contest ;)

He's a 4 month old (roughly) blue bar Ambilobe Panther.
The question I suppose is have you seen a blue bar baby with so much orange and color variation? He is pretty different compared to his siblings, and we're wondering if he could possibly be a red bar?

I would love to see pictures of yours, please feel free to compare!

Whatcha think?

Regardless if he is blue bar or red he is a handsome young cham. I asked myself the same question when all three of my panthers were babies and yeah they look that way. I have 2 red bar and one blue bar and when I compare the photos of when they were young the looked almost identical. Well in the coloring department.

I think he looks great! Hard to say exactly how he will turn out. If you know the breeder well and to be reputable, you will most likely get what you were sold. My panther Peewee is a total freak of nature compared to all his siblings which are blue! He hardly has any blue left on him now after 2 yrs !

The colour on this guy does make it difficult, but I would say male. At the base of the tail you can see the kind of 'empty ball sac' where his hemipenes will develop. A female would not taper the same way right at the cloaca, and have a deeper indent instead.

Okay thanks so much for that info! I'm feeling a bit more confident now that he is in fact a HE :)
