Im sorry you're going through this. I've had to go through this very recently with my chameleon. She died of acute kidney failure. If there's anything I, or we as the community can do for you for support, we'd be happy to help.

Take him to a vet maybe and have them do it? Or maybe just make him as comfortable as possible for the last couple of days... I would never recommend doing it yourself because you might make his end more painful then peaceful.

Yeah i agree. You should avoid putting two chameleons near eachother in the first place. I dont know if they're comfortable with eachother but from experience and what i've seen on here, two chameleons near eachother is a bad thing. Males and Females maybe if you're going to breed them and that...

I can definitely see how it can be cruel or sad... Not everyone is interested in biology and genetic mutations! Surviving and thriving is... very unlikely for any species with this mutation, especially with a parasitic twin. It's cool to see but it's horrible to think about.
