I've tried to find other posts about Phoenix Worms but found very little. There have been stories going around the internet about them being high in calcium and not needing to be gut loaded or dusted. I see a site sponsor, Mulberry Farms, sells them. Does anyone have experience with them? Are...
I see you've talked yourself out of a change but just fyi let me add my experience. I had been using the calc powders as recommended until I read some reviews of Repashy Calc Plus. A female veiled of mine went blind, could not climb, and died during that period. For the past year that is all I...
I've been using the SainSonic SS5380 for a year now. It's pretty accurate. Just add about 3 degrees if shooting through screen wire. Less than $20 on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081CSFUQ/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Let us know which one you decide on and how it...
I did not go because I'd heard it was not all that! Too bad cause there are a lot of cham owners, breeders in the DFW vicinity. They need to step up to the plate and present more!
Camimom was not criticizing you. We all were surprised that someone would sell you one that young. It was meant as a warning that your chamy could be stressed. No one on here wants to make you feel bad. It's all about learning what is and isn't safe or good for your baby. We're all here to help...
All very normal sounding. Opening their mouths is called "gapping". It is a form of self defense for them. Usually if you move very slowly towards them they will eventually stop doing that. (Although I've heard of some never stopping and always being aggressive!) :( If I don't handle or touch my...
I think just about everyone on here will agree that they do get a little touchy when shedding. Mine quits eating almost completely for about a week during his sheds and he doesn't even like me picking off the loose pieces, even though he seems to feel better after I do. A little warm spray on...
Our veiled turned black a while back but I found it was cause he wasn't digesting his food good. I raised his basking vine and it fixed him almost overnight. He doesn't eat the pothos much though. I have seen him hit the dirt once or twice!
What you have there is for cleaning the inside glass of terrariums. It does not appear to be meant to use for flushing water tanks or lines. I use a 7-gal. camping water tank (got at Walmart for about $10) and have had it in daily use since last June with no slime or bacteria build up. I used...
You will find that the umbrella plant does need lots of light and little water. It will rot and die very quickly if over watered. The ficus will do fine but does need drainage too. Good luck.
You did a great job posting your pics! The cage looks nice for a start. I'm sure others will also advise more vines or branches. I started with two 6' vines and now have 6 of them. Rambo loves going around and around and changing levels all the time. You can't go wrong with them. I have a double...
Jannb, well you should be. What would we do without your kindness, wisdom, patience, etc. Thank you for being here for all of the rest of us. (No pressure!):D
Read ferretinmyshoes comment just above your post. That stuff is marginal AT BEST. The best thing you are doing is adding veggies and that's probably what has been working for you. Most people don't/won't do the extra. It's like only feeding your dog or cat dry kibble out of a bag. It might keep...
Don't know about panthers, but our male veiled is over 20" nose-to-tail tip. He weighs around 230 gr. We had a female a year or so ago that was only barely 11" and about 1/3 the size of our male. ;)
I've had the same problem. Once it starts then I can't seem to make it stop. Repotting, trimming, removing it to a sunny location and not watering it, nothing seems to help. :(
