Everyone grab your red solo cups and party!!!:D
I have a couple of geckos in a glass vivarium and they do fine.
Chams really need a screened enclosure for air flow and other reasons.
I built my own system. It wasn't that hard and was cheaper than a package system. If I was going to do it again I would buy a MistKing or a raindome already in a kit. Mine doesn't spray all over the place like MistKing does. I have very fine mist nozzles that stay within a foot pattern at 3...
Looks great from here also. I use a 75 in one corner and a 50 in the other with the Repti Glo pretty much in the center. Temps barely can hit 90 running all day. But I have my lights about 6" above the screen top and then there's another 6-9" down to the basking spots. Even in Texas, I don't...
Wow, that's really quiet! That's what I'm looking for, the differences between what I built and others are using. I see you have one nozzle that does all of the watering. Is that typical of MistKing? Thanks so much. :p
Homemade Misting System Video
http://youtu.be/5VuQpVz1N7o
I really had hoped others would post some video so I could judge how my system worked in comparison but I guess no one else wants to share. I'll post one last video of my homemade system.
It's now two weeks since the...
Well, Dr Stanfill really liked Rambo, as did everyone there. The casque damage was worse than we thought. The leading edge of the upper half of it is now gone. It had been cracked for some time, according to the dr. Mupiroci ointment for the next 1-2 weeks should heal him up fine. The Dr. says...
An addendum: The humidity levels have been much better today. Temps have hovered around 86-88* all day. Humidity shows 54-85%. Much better. Rambo seems to like the changes. His appetite has been steadily improving and he now weighs more than he did when he arrived here!:p
Correct! Dr Stanfill has extensive reptile experience! Couldn't find out anything in particular about the other one that 'wouldn't' see us when I called. Dr Stanfill had been out on vacation all last week. The other one was just off Thursday and I was told she'd be back on Friday. They would not...
Ha ha ha he looks so evil! No really, cute kitty kitty...he's just sitting there like "what'cha get for me? Purrr" Just wants - has - to be center of attention doesn't he?!
Yeah, that's what I've been wondering also. I have two 60w basking bulbs all the way to the rear over the wall. They're about 9" above the highest point he can reach. The Repti Glo 5.0 linear is frontward and probably a foot above the center branches points. I lowered it last night but was...
Guessing from your pics that the terrarium is 1.5' x 1.5' (18" x 18")? I'm not much at cad drawing but maybe this would give you an idea. I thought a tripod made out of 1"x1"x12" uprights with some sort of triangle on top to hold it all together. Then clamp the light fixture to that? or make it...
Still Tweaking!
I can't help it, I'm still tweaking things. Last night I finally fixed the one mister head that was leaking. It really quieted down the pump a lot more than it was already. Rambo tried climbing it this morning to see if I'd fixed it well enough. It held!!!
I added a new vine...
Thanks.
I found a really nice herp vet just 10 miles from home. They have a great web site w/pics and all! Downloaded a new patient form, faxed it to them then called. Made an appointment over the phone, then got a follow-up email from them to confirm. Then they hooked me up with ePetHealth...

This is the place i'm using. They're in Arizona and they have all sizes. The medium that I get are only $13.97/50 (delivered post paid). The large are like a dollar more. Check them out. ;)
Please Do Not use grow lights as a substitute for uvb lights. :(

"UVB (Ultraviolet B) and UVA (Ultraviolet A)
The only lights that can safely provide these two critical wavelengths to your diurnal reptiles are the UVB/A producing fluorescents made for the...
Had you thought about getting 1/2" hardware wire and putting it on the outside, over the screen wire? Usually in the yard fence area at any hardware store and pretty cheap. Cat won't be able to claw through that!!! Cost maybe $5-7 a roll. Could take one or two rolls total to cover all the sides.
I rarely see Rambo drink (or eat for that fact) but the other day I saw him try to get a drop off the therm/hygrometer hanging on the back wall. He struck at it from about 4-5" and nearly pulled the meter off the wall! He didn't try that again! Usually he positions himself just under one of the...
I think they should make a claim with the post office since it was their shipment. If they can't get compensated then you wouldn't either. As much product as they ship (and pay postage on) I would think the post office would be willing to make it right on their end.
I'd at least bet that if...
I found a pretty good digital timer at Lowe's. It's UTILITECH #0155671. It's a 2-outlet timer that costs about $17 and should replace the one you're using now. You can program 7 different days up to 8 minute-by-minute cycles each day/outlet.
