I actually have done it by accident a few times. The first time was with c.t. Montium. The female laid the eggs. I had no clue and a few months later 7 little bugs were in the cage. Luckily she was well fed. I checked the substrate and found 7 hatched eggs.
I have a pet sitter that comes by every other day. It seems to work. If I go on a 3 day skiing weekend I just leave them. When I get home I put them in the shower and they are fine. I make sure to prepare them with plenty of food so I don’t have to worry.
If you can keep him outside for a while that’s great. They seem to grow faster when kept outdoors. Here’s a couple of shots of offspring from a pair that bred for me he’s just starting to really color up
And if you get the aspca or some other type of animal humane group involved they will just use it as fodder for their reptiles shouldn’t be pets position
There are some problems in life that have no solutions. If they were housing a dog so incorrectly that it threatened the animals life something might be done. But to the corporation of petco it’s only a lizard
See I keep my guys outside as much of the year as I can my quads can stay out the longest while my panther will have a much shorter outdoor season. The panther is the one that will need uvb lighting the most
