I’ve never had it actually happen or anything but I’ve heard they can stop shooting their tongue. Just watch out for it is all I was saying.

    Hornworm Help!!!

I would just monitor his tongue. There have been instances where chameleons can get tongue injuries from hornworms not coming off of their surfaces.

    Veiled or panther?

I got my panther from Kammerflage. He was expensive but it was well worth it. I had to save up a little extra to get him, but it overall helped me because I was able to research more and prepare myself more

Ultrasonographic appearance of the coelomic cavity organs in healthy veiled chameleons and panther chameleons...

They definitely are in the top three. But I’d agree that they’re the least popular. Not sure why but it might be the nighttime temp drop that’s required as you said

    How to keep heat down

He will be okay to turn off the basking light if the ambient temps are high. I have a herpstat thermometer for my guys basking bulb. I’m having the same issue as you right now. I’m looking at getting a portable AC unit to have for his room during the summer.

    Height of the lights

I hang my basking bulb from my ceiling using a chain. Also, there are some attachments you can make to cages that allows them to be hung. A rule of thumb for heat bulb placement is to put your hand closest to it near on the top of the screen. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.

I need a lot of help!

Gravid means that they are pregnant, so that would mean they’re carrying eggs. Receptive means that’s they’re ready to mate. I’m not sure about colors and stuff as I don’t have a female. However, if she is gravid, you will need a laying bin.

    New to forum and chameleons

Hey Greg, great that you’re doing research! As for your questions, I don’t use a fogger at night. It is too risky to me because the pipes can get very bacteria infested. I have a panther chameleon and while it’s hard for me to keep up the humidity at night, he’s doing great hydration wise. I...
