Phoenix worms are very good and high in calcium. My guy loves them as well! You should definitely mix in some variety, and also because phoenix worms are very small to begin with. I like to keep it balanced by providing both hard and soft-bodied feeders.
Welcome, and no need to apologize. You sir, are the type of new keeper that this forum loves. You've taken the initiative to research, research, research! I am fairly certain your 13 year old boy will mold himself into a great chameleon owner with you assisting him a long the way. Superworms...
They will learn to associate coming out of the cage with good things. My guy knows he'll get at least 1 of 3 treats.
1) Superworm
2) Natural sunlight
3) Free ranging tree
I believe I read that it is about twice the length of their body. I'm not sure if there is anything to look for color wise, but as long as he's shooting at insects fine, I wouldn't worry too much. Beautiful little guy you have there by the way!
Lathis,
Do you think using the shower method will possibly provide an energy boost to get her to drink more, along with helping speed up the shedding process? I know she's not in the best of state and probably doesn't need anymore added stress, but you never know.
