My veiled looked just like that when we got her, we thought she was a male for a very long time. She was confirmed female when she gained weight and was showing gravid colors. Chameleons can be deceptive little critters.
Though I do not own a chameleon anymore I would love to know how to breed locusts. I'm an avid bug collector/breeder and I would love to have a locust colony! Sorry this is kind of off topic.
judging by his size you might want to give him smaller crickets. You should try other feeders as well to see if he likes them to for ( like hornworms, superworms, roaches, moths, and a few more
Yes I kept her feeders hydrated, and gave her hornworms once or twice a week. I know she wasn't drinking because her urate was yellowish orange, and she had slightly sunken eyes.
