Too early to tell but the colors/casque to me indicate a female. The spurs do add some conflict, but ive seen multiple females on this forum in the last year that had visible spurs.
You could setup your lights on timers for the respected seasons changing sunrise sunset. Depending on the year it could be 11 hours of daylight or even up to 13 hours of daylight. I like to keep it simple and run 12 hours throughout the year. I do have my jungle dawn grow lights, basking bulb...
I see my panther drink at least once or twice a week by licking dew off leaves. When he was younger He loved to shoot his tongue at water droplets. He doesn’t do that much anymore he just likes licking the dew. If you observe enough you should see them eventually in the act of drinking.
Even...
Well the first 3 months of a chameleons life are usually the hardest to care for since they are very fragile at this stage in life. Most breeders sell their chameleons at 3 to 3.5 months because of this. Some montane species such as Jackson’s, breeders hold onto them up to 5-6 months old I’ve...
It’s crazy to think how much is changing and being researched in chameleon husbandry the last decade, especially the last few years.
Technology is helping with this, everything is a click away with your fingers now if you have a phone, and the fact that there are actually people testing and...
Nice looking colors The black bars are unique (y) I know how you feel on trying to get a good pose for a photo. Sometimes you sit there Forever watching them and snapping photos until they finally give you a great shot haha
I know what your saying. There’s always an offbrand item that’s an exact replica of an item that sells for 2x as much. I see this a lot with electronics. I feel you do pay that extra cost just because that BRANDNAME slapped on the item like you said it’s crazy.
Jungle dawn led bars or jungle dawn spotlights. I have 2 spotlights and a 6500k grow bulb in my uvb light fixture and my plants thrive under this setup. These are a little on the pricey side but they are worth it. Never tried the sansi but I’ve heard great things about them as well if your...
Little Foot is really starting to show some color in the last month. Here are just a few pictures I’ve snapped over the last few weeks. He’s getting so big! His next shed will probably be in the next week or 2 so I’m excited to see another dose of color again soon :)
Yeah that’s the name I put down when I was writing up my vet forms so it’s official haha. I loved that movie as a kid I had 3 movies I’d watch consistently pretty much everyday throughout my first 10 years of life and they were The Land before Time, The Fox and the Hound and The Little Rascals...
I know! It’s like he grows at least a 1/8 inch everyday haha! And new colors are slowly starting to come in so it’s been exciting to watch the process as a first time keeper. Ill be taking lots of pictures to look back on growth spurts and changes throughout his life :)
He is such a little cutie! Congratulations! Have fun watching him grow up. As a first time chameleon owner like myself it’s been amazing to watch how fast these guys really grow. Enjoy the baby phase while it lasts!
Just showing off some pictures of my 4 month old Blue Bar Ambilobe from @Matt Vanilla Gorilla Its been amazing watching him go from a brown little guy to vibrant blues and greens.
I have a panther that is 4 months also. I have been following @Beman advice above. He hasn’t quite gotten on to my hand yet but he was really thinking about it today. He knows my hand = food and snatches anything I give him from fingers/cup but he’s still iffy on actually walking on it just yet...
I don’t want anybody to think of it as a war I just think after this month of photos as being all veiled chameleons I’m ready too look at some different species now haha. It would be cool though to have a special or “National” month for some individual species on here though. You only have 12 to...
Congrats to the 4 winners ‘‘twas a very hard month to choose as they were all very well taken pictures. 70 votes this month too! Awesome . Now Let’s make August the month of the Panther chameleon haha!
