I just got this guy in the mail today, he is a young adult veiled. When I opened the package, he had vibrant colors, but when I placed him in the cage, he went dark in color. It has only been a few hours, and I am wondering if this is normal and if he will lighten up eventually. He seems...
So I have been having conflicting feelings about keeping my veiled's heat light on during these hot summer months. This entire week is supposed to be in the 90s so I worry about him overheating. I'm looking for a thermostat that could connect to the heat lamp that inturn would regulate the...
So I have a male veiled chameleon who is just about an adult. I have noticed that he seems like he is overheating (mouth open) so I turned off his heat lamp for a while. It is almost 80 degrees inside and I worry that he is getting too hot. Can I leave his heat lamp off during the day?
So my little friend is getting to the age where he needs a new cage 24x24x48. I am building it myself, and want to paint it, but I'm not sure what paint is safe, or if painting is bad altogether.
So I just got a male sub-adult veiled chameleon in the mail today. His eyes are noticeably shrunken in, so I have been using a pipette to try to get some water in him. He is drinking it alright, I just want to know if this is something he can come back from, or if he is just going to decline. I...
I know it super late, but I noticed what you said about your cham basking. The issue was his enclosure was too cold, only 65-75 degrees at the highest. I added another heat lamp so now its 85-95 degrees for basking and 75-80 degrees for ambient temperature. He seems much happier now.
I have a male veiled chameleon who is not quite a year old yet. I am concerned about his color. During the day and when I bought him a few weeks ago, he is brown in color, while at night when he is asleep, he is a blue and green color. Is this normal? Will he grow into his color? His habitat...
So this is my best friend Boaz. He isn't quite fully grown yet, but I am a little concerned with his color. He, for the most part, is brown with some blue and yellow in him as seen in the picture. I have seen photos of other males with really vibrant colors and patterns, so I'm wondering if this...
I took my buddy Boaz to a reptile vet for a wellness check, and she was very confident he is a spurless male. Everything about him (or her) seems to be male, but it doesn't have spurs. He is about 5 months old.
Arent these guys from Yemen and Saudi Arabia? I have no idea why everyone is telling me they need near tropic humidity? I figured they would do best in desert climates. Thoughts?
When I got this guy, the lady who sold him to me said he was male. It seems like he has the bulge under his tail, but no tarsal spurs that I can see. He is only a few months old, and I'm not sure at what age they develop these spurs.
So I have a male veiled chamelon who is about 4-5 months old. He seems pretty healthy, but I worry that his habitat isn't humid enough. I have a spray system that goes off every 2 hours for 20 seconds, and I also added live plants. I tried using a fogger, but he is terrified of the thing, so I...
