Should I disturb him? It is his normal nighttime and was in the dark during the ride.
I got him from a very reputable breeder and picked him up in person. I don't see how anything could have happened ina 2 hour drive. Just surprised he didn't/hasn't moved when he was in the light before I put...
Hi guys can some one please tell me I'm just being paranoid.
Just picked up my chameleon and made the two hour drive home.
When I got home and put him in the travel container in cage he didn't move at all and hasn't since. Sent a picture to the breeder and he said it's his bedtime and he's...
Going to pick up Aristotle tomorrow!
Here are some updated photos of his enclosure.
Also a gutfeed I made and am testing. (Think I out way to much in😂)
A bunch of these mealworms and bsfl larva went right to the food and appear to be face deep but haven't moved at all since they get there so I...
Dragon ledges came elevated some more plants laid in some branching. Looking pretty solid just need plants to grow in a bit and it will be a straight up jungle.
I would invest in an RO filtration. Well water can have a lot of minerals in it unless it's going through some really good filtration coming into the house.
I'm a new keeper bit from what I know he looks a tad chubby and other than that looks beautiful to me. Perhaps @ERKleRose or @MissSkittles could weigh in?
Hey just wanted to thank everyone that has helped me along the way so far! The forum has been awesome and you guys/gals have helped so much getting my supplies and knowledge up in preparation for my Ambilobe Aristotle's arrival!
Since my habitat is no longer tentative I figured I'd make a new...
If it is sitting on cage and light is right on top it is very likely to burn itself. What are the temps at your basking spot. If you can send some pictures of full cage and fill out the husbandry form that will be very helpful to all the more experienced members
Sick I know what I'm watching when this one ends 😂.
Glad I'm not the only one weird enough to search "chameleon" or "madagascar" on streaming channels lol
100% that's work perfectly as well. I chose the water line cause I had scraps from mistking setup. I really like how tight it fits on though also. Nice and thick and water tube holds shape well so shouldn't be any risk of coming off.
If you look at photo they only even cover one edge but looks like theirs is a bit cleaner of a cut. If you want to make a cut that leaves a smoother edge to begin with cut it with a hot knife. Should prevent burs and leave a better edge.
By the way this is exactly what to chameleons does. If you look close at theirs (atleast from photos I've seen) they are literally just take out containers with a hole cut and with thumb tacks integrated. They also only put protection on one of the rough edges that could scrape the cham.
This...
So I used a black plastic food container. Bought a 10 pack at target for $7 dollars and needed them anyway.

Cut a big square out leaving about 2.5 inches at bottom so feeder can't escape.
Took 1/4 water line...
I will add instructions to my post in a second but basically just cut a hole in a plastic food container and then put 1/4 water line around cut edges so cham can't scratch himself up. Then twist tie to cage screen. I will prob add a layer of softer mesh screen or something similar along back so...
