Can someone recommend a dusting schedule to me for a kinyongia tavetana (dwarf fischers chameleon)? Their a montane species so less dusting I know has to be done. Let me know, thanks.
I have a small ficus tree that has been growing in a pot under an awning where it gets no sun at all, its always in the shade. When I put it in my chameleons terrarium with just a uvb and a basking spot, itll still grow the way it was before right? Probably more, I mean, it was growing without...
I also have a 25W exo terra daylight bulb, I'll use that, because if I put the basking perch 4-6 inches away from the bulb its should give me around 83-85F. Im not sure yet, I have to test it out. What do you think? Will this 25W be too low a wattage?
I just purchased an exo terra daylight basking spot bulb, its the mushroom shape. I have the 50 watt, so youre telling me this will cause burns? What if I have it higher up, not touching the screen?
Im going to buy a male from a reptile carrier ive bought from before, theyve been in their captivity for awhile. I trust he'll be fine. What temperature do you keep your basking spot at for them? Im thinking 90F.
Can someone give me a link to a general caresheet of mountainous species? I had one from a user heres blog, but I dont have the link anymore. Im looking into getting a kinyongia tavetana. But might switch to other lower temperature requiring species. Thanks.
My only concern now is the plants. I have no animals in the vivarium. Can I change from 12 to 14 hours or do I have to do the 30 minute increments, even though I just have the plants to worry about?
I would like to run my vivariums lighting for 14 hours a day, but I'm worried that if I go over the natural 12 hours of light and 12 hours of no light that it might damage the plants and the animal. Is this right? Can I leave the lights on for 14 hours with out any damage happening?
He doesnt move from the roof, and I dont want to move him he is already stressed enough from this week. Unless you think he will be alright from me holding him this once?
When he climbed through the water droplets and got wet, he started puffing his throat out and opening his mouth. Sometimes when he opened his mouth he would make a popping noise so he probably has a respiratory infection. Why would he make a popping noise?
Here is a photo.
I sprayed the top of the cage and water droplets produced. He likes to climb on the top of the cage for some reason and he went through all the water droplets and got wet. Now he has a few water droplets dangling from his body and sometimes when he opens he's mouth for air he makes a popping...
I have a 16x16x20 Zoo Med Repti Breeze. I am looking for some sort of tray I can place in the bottom so that water does not flow out the sides through the screen, but instead drain from the holes I want to drill in the middle. Does anyone know of some sort of a substrate tray that I can purchase...
I went out and got the last repti breeze 16x16x20. I dont have much coverage for him in there, or decorations. I have one large (5 inches around) driftwood piece that stands up 18 inches tall. And I got 1 large exo terra plant (the one with the suction cup) and placed it over the wood for him to...
Just I just pulled a stick out from my mt meru's mouth that came from the tree fern panels I have in his terrarium. The only other cage I have is a 12x12x18 glass exo terra terrarium for him. He is 3 inches. Can I keep him in glass? Or do I need to get him a screen terrarium?
