Sufficient Lightning?

Hello All,

Everything is going to be arriving end of the week! I am getting ready to get my set up going, so I wanted to ask about sufficient lighting for plants. I ordered the following lighting:

I am planning to have the following plants:

Golden Pothos
Ficus
Dwar Umbrella
Tillandsia

Would the plants be able to thrive with the current lighting? If not, what recommendations do you have?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Both lights should be OK. I've read that the newer Arcadia florescents are even better for plants but I haven't had the chance to try them. I do know the lights you've listed will not harm the plants.

With just a single bulb you are likely to not have enough light. I use a single Reptisun 10.0 for UVB and 3 - 6500K plant bulbs. This is the fixture I use for all of my chams:

I just swap one of the bulbs for the Reptisun bulb. I like that these have their own built in timer and ballast, PLUS come with the 6500K plant bulbs. If you want to save a few bucks you can get this one and just get your own external timer for it (it has an external ballast).

Either way, the 4 bulbs will do MUCH better than 1 bulb.

^That's what I use, too. I've been very happy with them. I do use the 5.0 and the Zoo med fixture for my gecko enclosure. The 4 bulb fixture is way better for growing plants and lighting everything up.
If you do decide to go with the Zoomed fixture and 5.0 bulb, look for it on Amazon. When I bought mine from Amazon it came with a free T5 Reptisun 5.0 bulb and free shipping.

I have a small ficus tree that has been growing in a pot under an awning where it gets no sun at all, its always in the shade. When I put it in my chameleons terrarium with just a uvb and a basking spot, itll still grow the way it was before right? Probably more, I mean, it was growing without being in the sunshine.

Ficus have a habit of dropping leaves when they are moved to a different situation. The leaves should replace themselves after that. You may find the tree "self prunes" a bit up closest to the heat.
