Thank you all so much for the replies! I just woke up (it's 6 am over here), so I'll need a bit more time to get back to you all. I'll do my best to reply within the next few hours.
Here is the info. If there is something wrong/alarming about the cage or info please tell me. I'm not very experienced but I am willing to do anything for Axel.
Chameleon Info:
My Chameleon - Axel is a male, 10-11 month old veiled chameleon. I got him three days ago.
Handling - Since I got him...
I got Axel, 10-11 months old male veiled chameleon, a few days ago.
He's drinking water just fine (I spray it on the ficus leaves around him and he licks them), but he won't eat any mealworms.
I placed 5 mealworms on a white plastic dish and left it near Axel and went to work, thinking that he...
Thanks for the reply! Yes, this time I will get a male chameleon. I managed to find 2 vets who could possibly work with reptiles but still need to confirm that. As for the husbandry, I will prepare it fully before getting the chameleon.
Hi. I'm planning on buying a Zoo Med cage from this collection .
The cage should be suitable for a veiled chameleon from a young age till adult age.
Should I go for the small, medium, large, or x-large cage size?
If there are other brands that are more suitable, please let me know.
Hello everyone. Hope you're having a great day/night.
I used to own a female veiled chameleon 3 years ago. Unfortunately, she fell ill. I spent days looking for a vet, any vet, who can help me. After driving to every single known vet in my city, Jeddah, I couldn't get any help, and my Alphys...
Thank you all for your quick replies! You're right, I should buy from a breeder. I'll work on finding one. If I do get a chameleon, I'll post about it!
Hello. It's been quite a while since I last posted. Last time I posted it was in memoriam when my veiled chameleon, Alphys, passed away.
Now I'm back 1 year later, and considering getting a chameleon again.
A huge part of me thinks it's a bad decision. There aren't any reptile vets where I...
Here's her when I first got her
She loved climbing the hibiscus I got for her
She looked so silly sometimes
She was and still is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen.
Rest in peace, Alphys. I love you.
About two months ago, I scrolled past this part of the forum hoping I won't have to post here any time soon. Well, here I am now.
My female veiled chameleon, Alphys, just passed away. She was fine until a week ago. Her health declined day by day despite my best efforts, which are not much to be...
We don't have reptilian vets in Jeddah. And the last time I took a pet to a vet it didn't end well. I sprayed water and now she's hanging on her branch.
If she is dying of old age then ok, but I don't want to lose her knowing that it was my negligence...
I just opened her mouth and sprayed water. She started moving again, but very weakly. I just put her back on her tree and I had to help her grab onto a branch.
Alphys got worse and she won't move. She moved slightly a few minutes ago but that was it.
I tried force feeding her a mealworm but she won't eat. I sprayed water in her mouth and she smacked her lips a minute after and that was it. Her mouth smelled really bad.
Someone help me please I...
Alphys hasn't been active lately. She used to climb up and down her tree, and she would sometimes climb the curtains. Around a month or two ago she ventured outside her area which was a first (forgot to mention she is not kept in an enclosure, she has her own tree next to a sunny spot next to...
