So all of my chams are in x-tall glass exo terra's with a compact hood with 2 coil 26w UVB bulbs and a dome light with a 75 watt basking bulb. I have six chams, and find that when it comes time to change out my UVB bulbs for new ones, it costs a helluva lot of money buying 12 bulbs x $25.00...
I have a male veiled that looks like your Cham, with the same colours at rest. My guy Kane is pretty awesome when he's outside in the sun or has his 'Jammie's on - then he goes almost pure white with green stripes! I love my guys' uniqueness, he's awesome! Hopefully yours will grow up to have...
I have the opportunity to buy a set up complete with a MistKing at a fairly reasonable price however the model number the seller provided for the MistKing does not seem to exist (at least) any longer when I checked the MistKing website. The seller was reading product info off of the pump over...
I don't want to sound like a 'know-it-all' in the face of you having problems with your chameleon, but your entire set up is inappropriate for a chameleon and has probably contributed to your chams current condition. Even if you stop feeding the cat food (raises a big, bad flag to me), your Cham...
These are great ideas!! Olimpia, I use zap straps but agree that fishing line is nicer to look at (if you can even see it), the black zap straps aren't very aesthetically pleasing! I also like to use outdoor branches, they add the lush, natural look that I like my cages to have.

Okay, another tip that saves time and keeps my chams healthy; once a week I do my 'gutload' shopping and then spend an hour it so slicing & dicing and packaging everything up into little ziplock bags and then put it all into my gutload container in the fridge.
Every second day I provide...
You can generally buy plain calcium at any pet store but yes, they are often sold out. I use the rep-cal brand. If you can't purchase in a store I would suggest ordering it online. It is very imperative it be PLAIN calcium!
In my (almost) 7 years of keeping chameleons I have come up with a few tips & tricks that have helped me in the ultimate care and contentment of my chams. I figure if I've got my own idea's as to how to keep a happy, healthy Cham then I'm certain other members must have some of their own ideas...
He's beautiful now and I can only imagine he'll 'pretty up' as he grows! I've never seen a Cham get 'uglier' with age so I think you'll have a stunner on your hands! :D
Of course I wasn't judging you - just trying to imagine how a Cham can 'crash' through the floor of a cage. The wording 'crash' indicates a fall from a large height to me.
Also, just a quick note on your supplements; babies this small (8 - 10 weeks is generally the age they are sold. If this is your first Cham, he's very, very young and will need extra diligent care till he's older) anyways, babies this small do not require daily supplements, as its easy to...
