how to get a young male veiled used to being held?

I made a "play area" for Merlin. It consisted of loose branches from outside in different heights , if you do this make sure you clean the branches. If you want to make a similar set up you could use hooks and hang some plants up like some pothos plants. As for the tree , I use a fake silk tree...

how to get a young male veiled used to being held?

I would recommend making a schedule , as in same time every day feeding him. Try to hand feed him so feeders and if he doesn't take it , try holding a cup with a feeder and try to get him to take it from the cup. If he doesn't come around there is always tomorrow, patience is key. I've learned...

    Panther gone off food

I can agree with the fact that they dont get to eat everyday in the wild, but he also said a couple of days. Now yes a healthy chameleon can survive a few days without food , and yes he might be on a hunger strike. But it is recommended to feed a wide assortment of foods, on a daily basis...

    Panther gone off food

I would go and get one done, loss of appetite can be a sign of parasites. You can try to not feed him for a day or so to break a feeding strike , but thats not the healthy alternative .

    Sleeping on the floor???.

Can you fill this out and can you post some pictures of him and his enclosure ?? A chameleon hardly ever goes to the bottom of the cage , so a heat strip wouldn't be needed . So some information about your enclosure can help determine the source of the problem Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon...

    new custom chameleon cage

I agree, particle wood will expand and contrast through temp changes and moisture and break really quickly . You can still seal it with multiple layers , but it wont be a forever long fix. You could use it as a "Base" and screw marine ply wood into it directly along with the sealants to help...

    new custom chameleon cage

http://www.homedepot.com/c/concrete_sealer_driveway_sealer_wood_sealer_deck_sealer_exterior_sealer_buying_guide_HT_BG_PA I would use a water based sealer, and let it dry for a couple of days, cover anything that will be exposed to water. The water base is safer than many other sealers. I left...
