    Chameleon Sleeping

I agree with Laurie, I think it’s perfectly normal for them to sleep upside down. I have had a few of mine do that as well.

    Fake Plant in Real Soil?

Chameleons will sometimes eat the leaves from plants. The leaves from a fichus plant are a lot denser then a few stems of moss. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it would cause impaction. It depends on the cage that’s being used. This is just my option. I didn’t have a drainage opening in my cage...

    Can Chameleons Hear?

Low frequency noises can come from pretty much everything in your house, the phone ringing, TV on, you talking, listening to music. There is no such thing has a free low frequency room. Now in High quantities yes maybe it is stressful but you don’t know 100% I would say it would be more...

    screen type..

I had a plastic mesh cage once before but I didn’t like the fact that if the heat lamp gets to close it would melt.

    Fake Plant in Real Soil?

I wouldn’t suggest using dirt or soil for the bottom of the cage. Over time it will get so wet that it will turn muddy and start to smell nasty. What I use is Zilla’s coconut husk with moss on top of that to catch the extra water that falls, it also keeps the humidity up. I also use both fake...

    baby's tears safe?

I love using this for ground cover, it makes the cage look beautiful and holds the moisture from all the misting and water dripping.

    taming my chameleon

Every Chameleon I think has its own unique personality. Some are nasty mean like my Male Valid. I won’t bother touching him. But my female Panther is only 4 months old and she doesn’t mind me gently reaching in to take her out.

    Some like it Hot?

Just curious if any one else has seen this behavior. I have a 4 month old female panther and she wants to sit right under the basking light where it gets around 90. The temp in the cage is between 70-85. I have tried to move the light in various spots of the cage, but she will just find her way...

    Rossette Nosed Chameleon

That is odd? It read also it’s from the Tanzania Highlands. Maybe it’s a place that’s humid and overcastted. Would that explain why you wouldn’t need an uvb light? It’s a rare Cham indeed, looks awesome.

    Kam is sick again :(

Poor thing. Senegal Chameleons are easy to take care of but a pain if they are wc due to them having lots of Parasites from the wild. If its bleeding poop it definitely sounds like a parasite. Just tell the Vet everything you told us on here. And about the bleeding. Keep us posted!!
