Thanks everyone, while I'm not a stranger to baby raising, these guys were a serious challenge. Shipping stress really took a toll. However he and his sister are doing well.
Chasesoda I have been trying to contact his seller as she does owe me 2 more, but needless to say after months of...
Hey guys this cham was sold to me as a nosey Be baby. Now this was a nightmare from the get go. Breeder shipped out babies that MIGHT have been a week old, but I doubt it. So somehow thanks be to miracles this baby survived and is coloring up. Now this is the first Nosey Be I've had so I am...
Ok so I like to take all of my babies outside for fresh air and sunshine. Since we finally got above the frozen artic line in temperature they each go out with me for 30-60 minutes of good old fashioned sun at least twice a week to four times a week. However here's the catch, (isn't there always...
I got the ultimate kit, because I usually end up with a tank full of babies very two years or so, and I LOVE it. Not only can I leave my chams for a week or so with the orders just dump one of these prelabeled cups in there once a day, but I don't need to worry about the dripper speed or...
Hello,
Glad to hear you are seperating them, I know my little girl is only half the size of a male and will run him off if she manages to sneak out.
I did want to mention you might want to take a look at your gut loading. Loading with carrots while providing plenty of water, doesn't...
Ugh I am so ready for some sun. It's still hanging in the 40's up here. I don't know who's chomping at the bit more to get outside, me or the critters. Alas I am hoping it might actually hit 50ish today so we can at least sit in the front window and dream:)
It doesn't give them any UV but...
The argument is long and hard for/against vivariums. My location is cold often, so I keep my hatchlings in vivariums. I do think they can be kept in vivariums, it does take special considerations, but then again so do screen cages.
I am sorry to hear your loss, however without know what...
I would also consider your gutloading. Potato doesn't really give the nutrents you want you cham to have. There are some good commercial gutloads you can use that are fairly quick and easy, also Jan B has some great gutloading blogs. I usually use a bugburger, chameleon superfood gutload as my...
The burn on the back does look like it got to close to a light. So depending on your temp gradient you might want to consider raising your light or possible lowering it's acess to the highest point near the light. However hopefully one of the vets will put in their thoughts.
Just keep in mind that they really are little walking stomachs with feet. You might want to have a few fruitfly cultures ready. I rotate out through about 5-6 per batch of babies born. But I will say I love them when they finally take a good look at the world.:D
Oh thank you, I will have nightmares for nights over this. I have these roaches, and I still shriek and fling my arm about if one gets on me. Yeah I still use tongs, and still hate bugs. Sigh what we do for our babies... But I have never had a roach escape that wasn't because I flung it...
Ok, I'm probably missing something, or overlooked it, but speaking from experience I'm going to throw this out there. Even if they hatched 2 weeks ago that is very, very young to get one. Hatchlings are incredibly hard to keep going. Most experienced keepers do not recommend getting a baby under...
Well I did have to laugh quietly a lot. My pet sitter must have called me every 20 minutes with updates on what she was doing and panicked questions on what was normal. LOl payback I think for what I did to my mentor the first time one of my little girls laid.
Thank you all for the...
Well the little rat did it. LOL She started digging as I walked out the door for my plane and after getting back 2.5 ( thank you very much winter snow storm) I dug up 24 wonderful little Nosey Be eggs. Hopefully they will make it, but at least my girl is doing fine:)

Hmm maybe I should say dig them up and place them in vermiculite. Unfortunatly I will be as careful as possible, but I'm pretty sure some will be turned

Ok, so I did a search, and didn't really find anything that addressed this topic. I have to go out of town and my gravid female just started digging holes today. Unfortunately do to a family emergency I have to leave, but I have a friend staying over to take care of my chams. Actually she's here...
