There is something wrong with his eyes for sure. It doesn't look like dehydration though to me. I don't know much man, but I would make the sacrifice to take him to a vet asap. Stop the condition before it gets worse...
I can not wait to freerange my ambilobe. he's only 4 months, I'm going to wait until he's 9 months. Then he won't see cage anymore unless I'm going to feed him flies...
Keep the pics coming, very interesting the way everyone solves the problem differently of making a living space for a chameleon.
I cover the front of my panther's enclosure with a towel. It's lights off for him at 8pm. He's ready and perched for sleep by 730. I notice he'll keep his eyes open after the cage lights go out and watch me walk around the room. As soon as I put the towel up though he's out in 5-10 minutes and...
i agree with what was said earlier, I can't mist my cage more than about a minute or else it's completely drenched and the soil is sopping wet. Small cage though. He never seems to drink during or after hand misting anyway, at least not in front of me. His urate is white though and he seems...
Yea, I've noticed mine getting up before the lights go on. The sun coming through the windows lights the room up pretty well though. He'll usually take his time getting to his basking spot. Keeps an eye on my as my bed is below his cage.
Oddly mine has no interest. He'll even poke out his tongue ready to shoot then pull it back in, then poke it out, then pull it back in. I think he's confused. He will eat them, but as for now he prefers the worst feeder ever: crickets.
Bummer, it's sort of weird how different they are from day to day. I feel like I keep seeing these mellow older chameleons though on youtube, etc. I'm hoping they mellow with age just like humans and most of the animal kingdom:D.
I have too much foliage to really get my hand in the cage without...
haha...thanks for the answers guys, I would have no idea otherwise. So he's a little PO'd that I'm messing with his space?
I'm planning on free ranging him in my one bedroom apt when he gets a bit older. I have a nice SE facing window (I'm on the third floor) which catches some nice afternoon...
Hey,
So i was looking at my ambilobe panther chameleon today and he was pretty chill just sort of staring back at me. I tried some hand feeding but he showed no interest. He's already eaten about 11 crickets today though
Anyway, i made a sudden move accidently and he developed these black...
It's funny how they set up camp. About an hour before lights out Leon is all perched up just sort of waiting for the lights to turn out. He's got two favorite spots. One is really well concealed and the other is out on an open limb which he seems to be sleeping on more and more. I think it's...
Well today he was in an open spot and I came up to the cage and he flipped. he brought out these black bars and just sort of stood there stressed. I think I must have surprised him. Really bummed me out. I just stepped back and he sauntered up to the back of the cage. I actually think he's...
Forever, thanks for the feedback.
He's stopped hand feeding completely. He doesn't hiss or lunge at me but just sort of looks at me worried like and then climbs to the back of the cage when I'm presenting him with food. I will just continue to try to be patient.
A few days ago he climbed onto...
cool,
Yea, I was just going to remove the ivy. I would like to free range him when he's old enough. He just camps out in the back most of the time where I can't see him. I thought I would remove the fake vines on the right side at least, or the ones on the back-most stick across the cage. He's...
