Hey,
So I think I have too much stuff in Leon's cage. It makes it difficult to clean. However, he seems to love the hiding places. This sort of bums me out though because it makes it difficult for me to observe him from afar. Instead, I have to get real close to see what's going on and I don't...
I would be stoked if my cham warmed up to me like this! He never gets angry with me, but I can tell I freak him out a bit. I've only had him two weeks. Might need some more time to adjust?
Anyway, I'm taking it slow, but I'm hoping to free range him when he's an adult.
Sweet, very interesting info. Thanks!
I asked the breeder for the most docile juvenile male in hopes I could interact with him a little more. I want to get things off on the right foot.
Did you raise Arda from a juvi? What was her disposition initially?
...Hahaha..I'm watching Leon now...
So I've noticed my juvi male shows these nice white bars when I'm not watching him closely. He's also very active when I'm not around his cage. If I'm close to the cage though, he loses the white bars and is just a light green (similiar to his colors when he's sleeping) and stays pretty still...
Well,
I tried again this morning. He ate two reluctantly. One was crawling on him. He ate another cricket out of my hand. I don't like the Dubia in that they are hard to handle. I was really hoping to get rid of crickets for good, but it looks like Leon has a preference.
I guess I'll put these...
So, after some effort, I finally got my 100 nymph Dubias from the post office. Brought them home, set up their roach home in hopes of breeding (got 7 pairs of breeding adults). I put a couple in Leon's cage and he could care less. I stuck a cricket in there and he ate it out of my hand.
I don't...
Sweet! Do the lights from the TV ever wake your chams up? I'm thinking about moving my setup. I live in a one bedroom and I would like to be able to take a look see when I'm chilling on the couch rather than having to get up. Lazy...I know.:D
I didn't think about that. I have some adults in hopes of doing some breeding but I didn't think about having too many!
Definitely going to creep me out a bit
Yesterday they didn't leave the package next door as requested so I got a letter saying to pick it up from the post office the following day after 8am. Because of work I couldn't get there until 545pm. They closed at 5pm. Damn.
Am I screwed? The weather has been around 68 day 55-60 evenings, I...
Hey guys,
Leon is my new male Ambilobe panther. I've seen him drink once in the past 5 days, but I'm not home most of day. I have an auto mister going every three hours and I've been spraying 3+ times a day. He ate around 12 crickets today.
Nonetheless, I think he looks dehydrated, but I'm...
I try to clean out my cricket enclosure as frequently as possible. It's small, so I'm doing once every three days. Will they eat their own feces? They smell awful.
Still, the chameleon eats the feces along with the cricket, so they must be able to tolerate bacteria loads of some amount. I'm...
I'm no expert, but I think you should work you way up. Get him used to your hand, eating from it consistently. I'm working on this right now. I'm not touching him, just holding the food. He'll take it about 50% of the time. I plan on doing this for another few months Before I start trying to...
yea, it's a reptisun 5.0 and I've got a 65w heat lamp. I found the hood for $12 at petco. Some sale or something. I was about to fork over $40 for another hood when I found it. That was a relief!
I tried the cup feeding method today but he didn't take to it. I ended up placing crickets close to...
