Just be cautious! I used to work at a petsmart and they really take awful care of the chameleons there. Other animals are kept fine but other than that they really aren't well taken care of.
She may be gravid. I would get a laying bin in there in case ASAP. Around that age they start producing their infertile clutch for the first time so it's always good to be prepared. I use a 12 inch deep bucket from Home Depot filled with organic potting soil for mine. Make sure it is moist...
Hi guys, I recently bought my friends male Veiled Chameleon. Well the terms of the deal was that I had to buy the female along with him in order to get his enclosure because for some reason they had the two together. I would like to really limit the problems of having two in the same cage and...
Does she have the gravid patterns? Because if she doesn't I would think she is just exploring, but that being said if she does have the gravid patterns, and you keep popping in on her when she is attempting to get into the bin, she won't lay her eggs, she needs privacy. So what I would recommend...
lol steal away!! Found this about a year ago and haven't turned back since, its perfect! Just be sure you put screen on the bottom to make sure you don't have any water build up in it from your misting.
This is what I use for all my cages, work very well and I have no problems with crickets jumping out or anything.

The bulb you did get is a combo bulb for good heat and UVB but like Killer chams said its going to be way to strong for your chameleon. I would just buy a tube light UVB something like a Repti-Glo. As for a basking bulb a common household bulb, you don't need anything special.
Honestly if she isn't showing gravid colors I wouldn't worry to much about it, my female Veiled is a year and 2 months old and she is just now showing her full gravid coloration. My advice is keep a laying bin in there just in case so she knows it there so that when the time comes she can...
Yeah definitely, but as for the Beardies and your chameleon they will be perfect. But again freshly molted would be great for the leos and make sure they are small. I've seen my friends leo almost choke on a non molted one that was a bit bigger than what he should have.
I observed your post and saw you are going to feed dubias to your leopard geckos, make sure your leopard gecko can swallow one first. I only fed very small dubais to my leos because they don't really chew like chameleons and bearded dragons. They tend to chomp a couple of times to make it...
Oh! AND how long do you mist at a time for? A quick minute isn't enough, one of my favorite sayings I heard from a fellow senior member was "If your hand isn't cramping your not doing it long enough" lol
yeah we all face that most of the time, have you considered buying a Live plant? They are fantastic for humidity and help a lot with retaining it as well. Also provide a ton of foliage so there is really a double bonus lol but what i recommend for a live plant is a Ficus Benjamina. I used mine...
Honestly if he is tame enough you may get away with just setting him on your shoulder while you scrub, just be careful. Or even on the side of the cage if you aren't moving it to much, that way all he does is climb around the cage on the outside part. But as far as cleaning I only use scorching...
My girl Isabella is very docile and sweet, most times I can get her to walk out onto my arm and she will go right onto my shoulder! Incredible what patients and love will do from a young age with chameleons. Some are just grumpy and others you have to work on. All in the chameleon and how you...
What I like to do is peel and orange and use orange slices and change them out every other day or so to prevent mold. It gives them nutrients and water whatever you are feeding. But a lot of people blend up there ingredients and freeze them when they make a whole bunch in ice cube trays to...
Well how often do you mist? You shouldn't have to do that if you can keep up on misting or even buy a misting system. I don't see why you couldn't do it though, its a great idea if your house is drafty and you're having problems with it. And hello to you as well! :D lol
