Best place in the house, and feeders?

I'm in the same boat as BunnyGirl I love watching my cham so I keep him in the bedroom away from the rest of the chaos I call my house. I totally agree letting a few crickets run around the cage for food is a good thing. I only use a feeding cup when it's worms, or hand feed them.

    Utter Relief! Jenny will live!

CoastalSilkworms for the east coast comes out of Jacksonville, Florida. And congrats on getting her to eat and drink alittle! Plus I totally agree about them absolutly wrapping they're tails around your heart. I was in love at first tongue flick.

    Charlie is not eating!

I've found that crickets will basically stick to Kale if you have a leaf in the cage and dump the crickets on it they'll stay there for a while. Try maybe putting a few crickets on some at a time and see if they'll stay there long enough to attract your cham to them.

    Getting Cham to eat silkworms...

I got mine eating and loving them. My little guy doesn't mind me hand feeding him. So I started him out with it on the tip of my finger, the silkie would raise it's head and start spinning keeping the worm in the focus of one of his eyes got him to try it. If your little one isn't too afraid of...

    Potting Soil?

I'd just watch out for Wal-Mart all together with all the scare coming from that place, I wouldn't buy anything that could come into contact with you or your cham for fear of cheap materials or chemicals used in making the product.

    Outdoor enclosure

I had though about that myself, but I didn't know if a large size would be good enough when my veiled grows up to be a big boy. I liked the fact you can hang it, it makes it more flexible in my situation. Keeping the cage out of the way of the dog is very important to me. And I have a plant...

    My Chammy loves silkworms!

My veiled will go out of his way to eat all of his silk worms before touching anything else. I like them myself though (dispite the odd smell) I can feed him worms that I would think are "large" but fit between his eyes and he seems to get them down nice and easy! His hornworms are a whole other...

    Outdoor enclosure

I have an outdoor cat and a dog that seems to like things that move (outside in the backyard more than anything), the cat has yet to even see my Veiled, at this point the dog has lost interest. I really want a nice cage for weekends and such for him to go out and chill in. He's still a juvi so I...

    Orchids

Are the flowers poisonous if eaten? I have a small orchid that's growing on a peice of driftwood that would be a nice addition to my new cage setup. My Yemen doesn't seem to want to eat flowers/folage in general at this point. I keep putting "yummy plants" in there and he has no insterest. I'm...

    Outdoor enclosure

I'm wanting a seperate cage for outdoors so I don't have to truck my poor little Yemen around in his big cage. What size would be okay for a "nice day" cage?

Is he ready to move to a larger cage?

I had the escaping problem too with my Yemen(3 months old 5'' ish), I've finally given up while I wait for my new cage to get here and gave him a little playground (actually a birdie playground) to play on to get out of his too small of a cage for a while.

    My Chammy loves silkworms!

http://www.coastalsilkworms.com I kept hearing good things about Mulberry Farms, but your right Lizardlover, the shipping was going to cost me more than the worms themselves if I went through them. That and I got the little silkworm kit to have a place to house them. it was worth the money it's...

    My Chammy loves silkworms!

I ordered some silkworms from Coastal Silkworms because their Eastern location is here in Florida, he absolutely loves them! Good thing I got some eggs too! :D The best part is all of my hornworms and silkworms came alive, not even one death in the pods.

    Juvi vs. Hornworm

That's my other reason for being a little hesitant, I live in Florida so unless we have a cold front coming through it's pretty warm everywhere. I can't even think of a cool place in house besides the fridge (which I know you can't put them in).

    Mouth is open while basking

I'm ordering a new cage today, and suggestions on who to go through?

    Mouth is open while basking

Right now, the wrong type of cage. I have him in a terrarium and I have to leave the door open or cracked open to provide proper ventilation and control temp and humidity. I am working on finding a proper cage and will be ordering it soon. His ambient temp is between 75-80 degrees with a basking...

    Mouth is open while basking

I have a plant for him to climb on to get to his basking area, I keep it trimmed back so he's not too close, so I'd saw he's like 4-5 inches away from the bulb. He just shed like a month ago. It seemed like when he walked away from it he closed his mouth again. I'm going to turn the bulb down a...

    Mouth is open while basking

Okay, my basking temp is a little under 90 degrees right now. It's alittle cold inside the house today. He ate medium sized crickets and a couple of mealworms. First he did drink alot and sat with his head up for a while after drinking, then he went back to normal and ate his food and then went...

    Mouth is open while basking

He just got done eating some breakfast and is now basking with his mouth open. Is that okay? Or is something wrong? I was watching him eat his breakfast and everything was going okay until he was done and went near his basking light.
