Five more to go, Laurie! Two are burst wide open, but babies are taking their time, soaking up the egg yolk ..one is somewhat pipped.. one is sweating.. one is still plump and fluffy.
I don't think I'll ever know which one hatched which day, so do I go with the first day they started or the...
Thanks everyone! Babies are really exciting!
Here's a couple more pics from yesterday..
Already instigating.. with 2 followers...
Random baby..
This little one just perched here and watched its siblings running amok!
Friends on facebook are already trying to name them...
Thanks! :D
There are 10 of 16 babies out and in the nursery, tonight. Three eggs are still plump and three are pipped at various stages.
They sure are sweet little babies and so funny! One of them insists on standing up, waving its front arms at me.. until I put my finger close enough...
Thanks! :)
Two more babies out, now. One has a lot of yolk attached and looks pretty thin, in comparison, but it's moving around just fine ..dragging its yolk along. (I'll leave it on and see if it can absorb a little more of it before it dries and falls off.)
I saw one baby, out since...
There was lots of activity, yesterday. As soon as I'd get a baby set up in the nursery, another would be wandering around the incubator. However, today they are taking their sweet time. Four little heads peeking out of their eggs, but they won't budge any further than that. This has to be the...
The only one sleeping like this.. so cute! My hubby called me a "warden" last night, when I did another head count before bed. Haha! I can't help it.. they are so darn cute... and little! I have to keep an eye on them :o
The eggs started pipping and hatching on 31Oct11. Seven babies are in the nursery, now. Five eggs are pipped and four more are still plump, but sweating slightly.
There are more pics in THIS THREAD.
Here's a cute pic from this morning, just before the lights came on..
"see ..all da...
You have all the babies from my 3 favorite Nosy Be sires! They are all gorgeous!! Love that Kneecap female! I'm so envious!! :p
I was going to get a Kneecap boy a few months ago, but after my WC female laid a clutch and passed away, I decided to wait and see what her babies would look like...
Gosh! I haven't watched Jeff Dunham in a very long time.. have to go searching for some videos online. :)
I think your little one's nails are pretty long, but as he matures they will get 'Edward Scissorhands' long. It's comical, really.
Thank you, both! :) It does look prim, doesn't it, Laurie?
I have a total of 6 little ones out, now. One of the 7 that pipped yesterday is taking its time to emerge. Two more have pipped today and two others were sweating profusely, earlier. I suspect those two will pip soon. Five...
I'm using bamboo skewers, soft rubber coated plant tie thingy (like Laurie has) and some small vines. I'm thinking about putting one of my smaller ficus in the middle of the tub ..it's pretty big.. but I don't want any escapees, so may 86 that idea.
One baby out of its egg this morning...
Difficulty is relative to a person's individual experience, I think.
I keep two R. brevicaudatus girls in a 24x24 Exo Terra, fully planted. They do very well with minimal care. Telma even laid some eggs, today. (She's probably laid a few infertile clutches in the months I've had her and...
Thanks Jann! It is exciting, especially since I haven't had babies in my house for a few years.
How is Camille? I read the threads. I'm so sorry she's having health issues, but you are a great Mommy ..she's in the best hands for a complete recovery! :)
In most species, the female's tail is shorter and broader at the base. And again, in most species, the male's plastron (shell underneath) will be concaved just slightly, so when he mounts a female, he "fits" kind of.
It's hard to tell what you have, from the video, but the "baby" looks...
