    Baby Melleri Pics!!!

Congratulations!! I've been wondering how the last little guys were coming along, so thanks for the update! :) My big boy met his uncle William today ..showed him how to catch crickets ..and how to drink from the spray nozzle. I think they were both very impressed with each other.

    Melleri 7ft PVC cage

I really like this cage and continue to revisit this thread, so I can take another look. :) My big boy, Babu, has only been here 10 days and he's still acclimating to the new place and me, etc. I may build him something like this for outdoor use or for when I go away and have to have a...

    keeping a schefflera

When you re-potted the plant, did you add a little sand to the soil for better drainage? I've found that to be helpful in maintaining some of the finicky plants. I have no issue with Ficus, Pothos, etc. ....but the Schefflera seem hell bent on revoking my otherwise green thumb.

    Location Of Enclosures?

I made the final decision to share my 2nd bedroom/art studio/reptile room with my chameleons; particularly, the Melleri. I gave him half the room, actually.. free range. There's still a couple other occupants in there, but he can't see the snakes (in rack systems) and he doesn't seem phased...

what does a cham bruise look like?

Babu, my big Melleri dood, has bruises on both knees. He's new to me and it freaked me out the first few days, wondering what he must have gone through to get them. I'm an overprotective "mommy" to all of mine, anyway. Seeing him move around and do his usual routine makes me think he's no worse...

    Two new Temporalis!

I won't buy anything from them, if I can help it. Not anymore. I was asking if you'd consider selling me two of your females that may hatch from the eggs your new adult females may produce. :)

    Two new Temporalis!

Congratulations!! Thanks! I asked, but they don't seem to know the difference between a few of the various Pygmy species, so I gave up. :o Put me on the list for 2 female babies, if you don't mind. The two brev girls are doing fantastic, btw! :)

    Real Plants! Such a hassle!!

Perlite. And yes, you should be getting organic soil without the perlite and/or other fertilizers, so you can replace and re-pot all of your new live plants. :)

    Melleri and eating vegetables..

Laurie.. you are not lame. You just have to be willing to set a good example for those kids. Eat a salad in front of them! :D My Veiled guy liked dandelion and pothos, too. He'd nibble on his hibiscus whenever it bloomed, as well. I bought some mustard seeds to sprinkle around the base...

    Melleri and eating vegetables..

That's what I was thinking.. that it's an individual thing. He just looks so befuddled when I offer him something other than his coveted dubia or gravid cricket. :)

    Melleri and eating vegetables..

Do your Melleri eat their veggies? My "big baby" doesn't seem to be interested ..yet. I've offered a few different things. All organic and all from the list on the Melleri Discovery site. Are some of the acceptable greens, etc. more enticing than others? Do you hand feed them or just put...

    Cup feeding the Melleri

The first couple days, I hand fed him. It was awesome!! Then I did the unthinkable and moved him outside for some natural sunshine and he had a little set back with his comfort zone and me. :o We're getting back to a comfortable place, but he's not ready for my hand yet. I think he'll be...

    Cup feeding the Melleri

Thanks for these ideas! I'm glad it's not just me concerned about this. I felt bad when he was eating this morning. I really felt the impact when he shot the bugs and I know there's, at least, cartilage in their tongue. It just seemed like it would be similar to jamming a finger in...

    Cup feeding the Melleri

Thanks! I use a pretty big cup, but I may try putting some screen on the bottom. I'll try a bucket once I'm sure he's comfortable enough to move out of the enclosure and into his free range. I'm leaving the door open already, but he hasn't ventured out on his own yet.

    Cup feeding the Melleri

The first few days, I was hand feeding in an attempt to gain some kind of awareness that I am the source of food.. or good things. We had a slight set back, however, so I resorted to cup feeding the big "guy". First, I hung the cup and walked away. That didn't have great results. Now, I'm...

Who's chams accept dubias and who's dont???

Check with Ian at the Roach Ranch. He's also in the Classifieds on here. He almost always has nymphs and his prices are great! :)

Who's chams accept dubias and who's dont???

My Melleri eats the males from my fingers. I tried some nymphs with the Pygs and they didn't seem interested. My other non-cham kids will devour them 99% of the time.

Mist King system or Repti Fogger?

Why not AquaZamp? My next misting system will be an AquaZamp ..for the versatility and the possibilities for custominzing a unit for some of my non-Cham kids.
