Just got back from the vets...

We don't believe so, I guess anything could be possible though. The vet felt through all his joints and he doesn't have any noticeable swelling or anything they can feel. I could've bought at least one girlfriend from you for Herbie with todays vet bill!

Well it doesn't look too good at the moment for my guy. Today he was less active, pretty normal in the morning and ate decently today. In the afternoon he wasn't moving too much and this morning he went to the bottom of his plant and is sleeping right in the pot.

I took a brief video of him moving around but am having issues with uploading so I'll make sure to take some pics. Doesn't look too promising and I'm wondering at what point I should consider putting him to sleep. Tough decision :(

Vet bills are lovely. My big dilemma is he's acting decently healthy besides his lack of mobility, I don't want to wait until he's suffering to let him go.

Sorry to hear about your girl! Hope she recovers quickly enough!

Most know about Krunch and his MBD, I take him outside everyday on the lawn to let him "roam " around and get a stretch. The Vet suggested it, I just hang with him and he at least gets to get out safely. He also suggested towels on the bottom of the cage to soften his fall. Trying anything to help our little guys
hope you are ok M,
Anne

Well, didn't see your latest update, im sorry you and he are going through this

Thanks Anne, I'm doing alright but just feel awful for my little guy. I've been taking him outside a few hours almost every day and haven't seen any change in him. He doesn't fall much since his whole cage is covered with a huge umbrella plant and other small plants so if he does fall he only lands a little lower in his plant. I'm doing my best for him which doesn't seem to be enough.

just some things to consider, I didnt read through all the posts, but I do hope your cham makes it out ok. Could it be plant toxicity? I've breifly read about alot of different plants being slightly toxic or just the sap. I do think I remember reading about ficus and shefl.... however you spell it. IMO hibiscus seems the safest route. I feel that plant toxicity is something that gets overlooked a bit because I have read a few people with perfect husbandry but they choose a ficus or schelflflsdfaksdfjh for furnishing and the cham ends up with slowly developing issues. Also did the plant get washed enough? Suggestions I've read for introducing a new plant is to completely remove all soil from the original pot, including rinsing off the roots. Then washing with a light amount of soap and warm water three times with a dry off in between and before replacing into the pot you have to wash the pot the same way because they will get spray for pesticides along with the plant at the store, and of course using all organic soil. Just a few thoughts, especially since he is relatively young slight toxicity might cause problems.

Oh it's a mobility problem, his joints don't quite function correctly and he doesn't seem to have normal sensations in his hind legs. Vets believe it's neurological.

But thanks anyways, I rinse all my plants like a mad person, re-pot in organic soil, put washed river rocks over the soil as well. I'm sort of a clean freak lol

I think he was on the smaller side but he moved pretty normal, I shortly noticed mobility problems a few weeks later. It's been getting worst and now is about the same the past two weeks.

I believe he was born early February.

Oh he also has a strange mouth, looks like it didn't fully develop and he was born with that. I was wondering if this could have been the first sign of an issue??

So here are some pics.

When I first got him, maybe about a week after I got him. Still looks normal.

Month and half later.

I'll be taking pics of him tomorrow. He tends to have one leg up in the air like a high five, sometimes he'll have one front leg up and the diagonal hind leg up as well

Calcium shortages can cause some neurological symptoms. Apparently it can cause cramps and other muscle control issues.

Interesting, well the vets gave me oral calcium and a gutload for crickets, it is called T-Rex calcium fortified cricket food. Anyone hear of this gutload? I also feed fresh fruits and veggies.

I've heard of the T-Rex but I don't recall ever using it.
I have used calcium sandoz and calcium gluconate liquids though.
Calcium works together with D3 and prEformed vitamin A and phosphorous...so hopefully what you are using will bring them all into balance if they are out.
