If you setup a drainage system the flood doesn't have to be a problem. What I did was take an ordinary Tupperware container, drilled a hole in the bottom of it and placed a small tube in it that leads out of the cage and into a container that I empty once every day at lights out. My Schefflera...
Each Chameleon will grow at a different rate I assume from what I've read. Certain Chameleon's will just be more enticed to eat more, or if you have more than 1 Cham housed together, beat out other chameleons for food. Simple enough, when the Chameleon has kind of out-grown his jacket...
Just be careful about the feeder cup. I also got my Cham from Mike at FlChams, he free ranges all of his food for his cams. I couldn't get mine to cup feed for 2 days, thought i was doing something wrong, took the cup out, free ranged the crickets and worms and he went to town. I didn't want to...
I would take the temp of to 90 degrees. I keep mine at that and he stays green the whole time, only time he turns dark is right after misting when the temp drops down to about 78-82. When it warms back up to 90, he goes green again. I also have a 4 month old male Veiled.
Cool, thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. Just ordered a sack from Matisplace.com. This should be an interesting experience, but I want to be able to offer my Chameleon a wide arrange of feeders for him.
It would be nice to buy one of these on Ebay, but they sale them anywhere from 4-6 sacks and with 50-200 in each sack, holy cow that's a lot of Chinese Praying Mantis running around. Especially when I only want to feed one to my Chameleon every once in a while. lol Do any of the U.S. sites sale...
I would definitely have to agree with Dectr6 on taking out the second UVB bulb and just going with a 24" Reptisun 10.0 Bulb. It will be more than enough, even with the mesh. I have a mesh cage and I only use 1 Reptisun 5.0 bulb and its plenty. But then again a Chameleon cannot be over exposed to...
yeah I have to agree, My 18-20 week old male veiled does the same thing. He has his favorites spots in his cage, especially his basking spot. He spends a large portion of his time throughout the day just chilling under his bulb but when he's thirsty he'll venture down across the cage to the...
Their site shows their 2'X'2'X4' as back to $99.99 so I guess the deal is over, maybe if you call them and ask if u can get it for $75 they might do that.
This is Willow. He just had his first shed today. 7 days and 1 hour after he first arrived. I was too busy putting up 120 feet of fence in the backyard so I didn't get any shots of him shedding but he's coloring up great. but this is him when I got him 1 week ago today. He came from Mike at...
I have to do the same thing for my 4 month old male Veiled. For him there's nothing he hates more than being misted. I mist him twice a day for about 3 min, getting his cage nice and wet and he just runs all over the top of the cage dodging the droplets and giving me, go to hell looks, lol. Then...
Fly airplanes, play video games, travel, watch movies, hit up good restaurants, chill with friends and consolidate time saving strategies for newspaper industries and other companies.
Nice setup Crazy, that looks awesome. Dang those 24X24X48 cages look a lot bigger than I imagined, my little guy is only 4 months old. He would have to order take-out or call for a cab to find his food in something that big, lol. I knew they would be big but actually seeing one and a chameleon...
Sweet Justin, that's awesome man. Your female looks great. Right now I have a ton of Crickets and super worms, only problem is the worms are about 3/4 in to an Inch in length and pretty fat so I think they are too big to feed my Cham, I got them about a week before my cham and I swear in 1 week...
Well Willow arrived last Thursday from Mike at FLChams. He's a 4 month old male Veiled and he's been doing great getting use to his new environment. He's a stubborn little guy and has already picked out his favorites spots to chill. He's eating a ton of crickets and as soon as he gets a little...
My gosh Nic, that is one fat mamma there, lol wow. Congratz. I think I remember you saying this is your first clutch? I hope everything turns out smooth for you and the eggs bud.
