Hiya Filip,
The word diagnosis seems to imply that I am a vet.. which I am not. It is my opinion that it looks like MBD, though. I think one of the biggest challenges you face as a chameleon keeper is the relative isolation and lack of resources you find in your country for caring for a...
What a pretty little guy, Juli. I have a WC chameleon that has damage to one of her eyes, probably from being imported. I am pretty sure that she can't see out of that eye either, but she has no problems with hunting.
Heika
He was produced by Amazing Blue. He is from their Flash line. :D I plan to eventually pick up a female from Chameleon Paradise.. would make amazing babies, I think. Anyone notice the young one that FlChams has up for sale? Looks like a young Morpheus.
Heika
Thanks, everyone.
He is a pretty boy. She is recovering just fine. She is a nice chameleon from good breeding, and I can certainly attest to the fact that she has good strong bones, because she bites me every time I touch her.. :D
I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch.. but...
Yeah, they will be, hopefully. Morpheus is the daddy and mom comes from one of the best red bodied blue bar lineages around.
Isn't it, though?!? I am incubating these nice and slow at room temp. It will be a long wait, hopefully worth it in the end.
The sand is about 12 inches deep.
Thanks, Poh. The ambilobe clutches will be hatching sometime next year. I will let you know how it goes.. wanna trade? :D
Heika
This young ambilobe female dropped her first clutch today. She looks tired, I think.
Now just the hunt for the eggs, hidden somewhere in the laying can...
After rinsed the sand off of her and moved her back to her cage, it took a while to find them. She had tucked them clear down in...

Sorry, guys, I forgot about this thread. I contacted a bug guy at one of the Universities and asked him. The scientific name for them is Alphitobius, but which one he wasn't sure. They are fantastic little feeders though! Easy to keep and extremely reproductive. Mine don't fly.. does anyone...
I have used a few different things, and I believe my favorite is still some heavy plastic mesh that I purchased from a company that makes products for Koi ponds. This isn't the company that I purchased it from.. they seem to have gone out of business...
Hi Cala,
Congratulations!
When you say that you are misting the eggs.. what do you mean? Can you describe your incubation method?
I think from your picture, I would lean towards male also.. cute little fellow!
Heika
Honestly, I would recommend brevs to start out with. The leafs are just as addictive as the rest of them, and you can always move on to other species later on. Brevs are a worthy project, and inexpensive to get in to. They are more active and colorful than.. well.. just about any other leaf...
Oh, I am sorry, I never said, did I? :o
Yes, they are Elliot chameleons. The coloration (locale?) is orange, but they are awfully blue to me. I am not sure what the difference is between these guys and the blue coloration. Maybe I should buy a trio and find out.. :D
