They are not a rigid plastic however, they are like a thick vinyl. Not sure how to describe it. I had them when I tried the reptarium and I didn't find them useful as a liner. Feeders kept getting underneath it and they drooped terribly
Currently I live in an apartment in Seattle and my ambient room temps are in the high 60's to low 70 on any given day. Before winter I was using a 73w incandescent (those ecofriendly 100w) and was getting basking temps in the mid 80's. My boys are still juveniles. I put an LED bulb in each of...
You could reach out to them and see if they do any custom sizing. What they have listed on their website are their standard sizes and I would be surprised if they had one like yours.
Just my uneducated opinion but it seems pretty pricey for what you get.
I purchased a 48" hood from Amazon that houses one 48" bulb and 4 other incandescent or whatever screw in bulbs. ( I was using LED tip it got colder and I needed a bit more heat).
3 separate controllers as well...
What size is your enclosure. DIY sells a PVC tray that is 2' x 2'. I drilled mine out and put in a shower drain for my system. They sell them for all the sizes of their enclosures. The big one I got was 39.99 I believe. I has a depth of 2" I think.
I'm sure the babies will be ok, I was more curious if Petco had more info on their chams than Petsmart does...they never even know the sex...
Its good that you are going to screen owners. Maybe you can crate a care sheet to give them with their new chams and one before with a list of all the...
Superworms are fine, that is a myth that they do that. The chams crush them with their jaws pretty well before swallowing.
Silworms, Hornworms are good, my boys LOVE hornworms, they are bright green and wiggly what could be better. And they don't just fall of the branches and end up on the...
They are both really nice looking chams. I hope you have great success with the eggs. I know you lost some but wow taking care of that many babies, I can't even imagine it!!!
I'm curious, was Petco able to give you lineage information for the parents? I would have been concerned that they...
Most of the places that I order from have heat packs you can purchase with your order. I am in the PNW but order from all over the country and just have them toss in a heat pack. I have never had any problems so far this year.
Thats funny I have some arriving to day after a break from buying them and am hoping the same thing.
I use the screen feeder too and when my guys were little I got a single serving SunnyD bottle and made it out of that. Any opaque smooth plastic will work.
The roaches do just sit in one...
I hate the weird smell they leave on my hands. Even after washing them I can still smell it...
But the boys do love them. I don't feed them that often, they are not very active so I have to hand feed them or balance them on Sheff leaves.
You did your best in a bad situation. Don't let it sour you on chameleons, but before you embark on another one do some reading and research before going shopping for any equipment. I would hold off on any reptile until heating in your home is resolved (not sure where you live), if you heat...
Cool mist humidifiers are safer in general. Warm mist just heat the water to steam. I personally like the cool mist. Typically they have more ability to control the output. The warm ones are typically a vessel with a heating element that just chugs out steam. If you have kids or other animals...
My guys love them. The only problems I have is they grow so darn fast. I do the 1 day in the fridge 2 days out to slow growth but when I was just feeding one cham I ended up giving some away that outgrew my juvenile. I just ordered more so hopefully bigger boys will be able to eat them.
