So just to clarify and explain that I am not an idiot (if you were thinking I am)
This was a request for information from someone who has had the experience of keeping a nocturnal lizard in with Pygmy's for the main purpose of eating left over feeders.
Again to clarify.... I was not just...
invest in a hot glue gun and little disc rare earth magnets....you can stick anything to anything with them. Glue a magnet to the end of the vine or whatever and then attach it with a magnet on the other side of the screen. I use them for feeding cups and all manner of things. I use the small...
I get up for work at 0500 and turn lights on at 0600. The boys reluctantly start their day then, however when I get home at 5 PM or so they are usually already tucked in for bed so I shut the lights off them. I am thinking that as the days get longer they will be awake longer.
Variety is the spice of life. See if you can get other feeders and start rotating. My guys get something different each day, Dubias, Supers, Butterworms, Dubias, Supers, maybe crickets. I Order other things now and then just to mix things up for them. Hornworms and silkworms are great too.
Welcome to the forums and what a great story.
Your boys are awesome looking. Love the enclosure with the small lattice. I need to find me some of that. I bought some big bamboo lattice but was unable to make it work for me.
Make sure you put a carbon monoxide detector low in the room with the kerosene heater they are notorious for causing CO poisoning if not vented correctly. I don't know how sensitive chams are.
Oops hit reply to fast. I truly was wondering if i was being oversensitve. I am happy to have the mods evaluate it. It wasn't urgent. I was kind of trying to feel out if I was right to report. I am not a member on many forums. Umm, any other forums and I think my perception of appropriate posti...
My oldest daughter called me the other day to let me know she was accepted into Cornell's vet school. Rated #1 in the country!!
Crazy girl is not sure she is going to accept and is waiting to hear from University of Wisconsin... apparently there will be new construction at Cornell the whole...
I have one cham that comes to me whenever I am near and climbs right onto an outstretched hand and one that is positive that I am the devil.
They definitely each have their own personalities. Keep trying but don't force it. Hold a favorite feeder with tweezers until your arms feel like they...
Ya don't think I would try it with my big guys, but I was looking for similarly sized. The Viv is 18 x 24 x 18 and its my plan to put 1 male and 2 female Brevs. I'm not sure if that fact that that gecko is listed as an aggressive feeder is a positive or a negative LOL. Their temp, humidity and...
initially I had problems with my Sheffs that I attributed to excess water and eventually root rot, there started to be a sweet kind of fermented odor.
I got new plants. When I repotted them I did a 2:1:1/4 organic soil : play sand : activated charcoal. I put river rocks in the bottom of the...
I was reading a few articles and I read that one can place a nocturnal lizard in the enclosure to catch those rogue feeders that hide and come out at night. I have been looking for a small, insectivorous, nocturnal Gecko.
I have seen a few things about African Banded Velvet Gecko, it is...
You have lots of reptiles?
You should invest in the equipment to do your own fecals. I don't think it really costs that much to get the microscope, specimen containers and reagents.
I know you put a great deal of information in your post but for someone (one of our many experts) to help they are going to want information about specific husbandry.
There is a form that you need to use to ask for help.
There are addition questions regarding feeding, supplementation...
