Pokey today while i was cleaning out his cage. i let him hang out on his "poop stick" as it is now refered. i need to buy him another one, that thing is too hard to clean
has she always acted like this, even for the breeder? i know in dogs and cats (humans as well) they can have cerebellar hypoplasia if the brain does not forum right during growth. i had a CH kitty. he always walked like he was drunk and ran into things.
i don't know if chams can get it. her...
just to finish this thread off. Pokey made a full recovery. his lip is fine, he's still eating and drinking fine. and his urate never turned orange.
and he lived happily ever after....
a vet told me alot of the time they lay at night
i really have no idea though, but its something i've hear. i'm just passing it along
EDIT: also when she is in there don't treat her any different. keep heat and UV on top of the dark bucket(laying bin). and have some foliage...
my cham knows me, and doesn't mind my hands, but as soon as the vet gets ahold of him he flares up and opens his mouth like hes gonna bite. he's NEVER done that with me. so its obvious he is okay with some contact and he knows the hands that feed him.
i see nothing wrong with handling them...
Pokey's lip looks all better now. he has gotten 2 shots so far. tomorrow will be #3. His eating/drinking never slowed down. His lip never seemed to bother him which makes me very happy. He's taking the shots very well too, not trying to bit or anything :D
all the instructions come with the reptaid (thats the only one i've used)
use for 10 days (try to do it everyday at the same time) and it has a chart for how many ml for how many grams your cham weights (and pay attention .05 is not .5 on the included syringe) you take a 2 day break then you...
how long have they been there? i know i have seen individual scales "dots" on my guy turn black for a day or two then they go back to green. i have no idea what it was or why it happened but he's fine. but if his whole belly turns black i've recently learned thats septicemia. so definitely...
yes, she HATES water. i had her on automatic misting and it seemed to really stress her out. she would move SO fast, and so far away. i would come home after work and she would still be hiding in the top corner of the cage, as far away as she could get from the water. i thought she would just...
is she eating for you or is she just closing her eyes to the food?
she has always looked very bloated which is why i always had a laying bin for her "J.I.C."
her last poop was monday evening. but i couldn't get her to eat anything. she would look at it and close her eyes. i forced her to eat A cricket on tuesday. hydrated her well wednesday (no food wednesday for shipping) and thats all i got....
SHES 86 GRAMS!!! no way! she was 41 grams when i first got her. Holey moley! i never weighed her after that initial weigh. guess i never thought about it.
wow! :D she is a little chunk butt.
... but they say muscle weighs more than fat and when i first got her she...
it dries completely. he has great air circulation in his room (and in his cage) and he has a mega ray buld. And he only has one large "umbrella" plant in his cage.
i hardly think it was cross contanimation. they both had it from day 1 of me getting them and they were never in the sort of contact for coss contamination.
last time poke was treated for it he only got 3 shots. this time he's getting 4, and i think i will ask for another culture/sens. after...
the abcess will be treated with Amikacin injections. does anybody know anything about "Amikacin"?
his abcess in infected with pseudomonas. for some reason i feel that last time he was treated for pseudomonas it never cleared up all the way.
thank you so much for taking her. with school full time and work full time i just didn't have the time she needed.(and today concludes just the first week of classes!)
Like i had put in the note that went along with Annie if you need to get ahold of her vet at all the information to contact...
