I agree with texas. U cant change em. I have a male jacksons and although he is way more tolerant of me being in or around his cage than my female was he will still be very observent of me. I just leave him be. Stressing them out releases a chemical in their body which weakens their immune...
just got through seeing the video for muford&sons. love that freaking song. goes with my situation at the moment. but now their playing a shakira video so im gonna go play my guitar and jam to some 36 crazyfists. my favorite freaking band ever. just went to their show in houston. those guys are...
unless your cham is big enough to take on the full grown hornworms it would probably be a waste to detoxify them cause they grow super fast. Unless you wanna do your research and try to breed em but then again there a great addition to a diet but too many will make your cham fat. I just buy em...
Ah i cant believe no one has said anything. Stop gut loading with dog/cat food. Can make your cham sick. The night light is not needed as long as temps dont go below 65. Also only the reptisun 5.0 is needed. And as far as plants, look into getting a 6500k daylight bulb to replace that 2.0. Helps...
Lol! This thread is super old. My beardie and cham wait till they get a clear shot at the head before striking. Then chomp down. Just like wolves and lions go for the throat to kill their prey. Its natural instinct. But im sure they make mistakes sometimes.
i was almost thinking maybe my 5.0 wasnt enough either. its only two months old and my jacksons has been spending alot of time perched high up right underneath the bulb. he didnt really start this till i took him outside last saturday and he loved the natural sunrays. maybe hes trying to tell me...
cool! im in houston guy! as far as a nice chameleon it really all depends. they all have their own personalities, so friendliness is no guarantee. i have a male jackson and for the most part he is pretty cool. i can open his cage and move stuff around without him worrying about me. hell just...
foilage more foilage.! lol! he looks awesome. i cant wait to get my veiled from stefan. take a trip to home depot. get a pothos to hang from the top and a nice big shefflera or hibiscus. shouldnt cost more than twenty bucks.
im not a veiled owner but hopefully soon i will be. (getting one of stefans babies) but from what ive read, alot just has to do with the laying of the eggs. keeping tempuratures low enough and her food intake down so she doesnt produce bigger clutches which in turn can take alot out of her. but...
Yeah I just bought one of the cheap ones at hd. A 4ft. And I must say even with two 6500k bulbs the light is pretty bright at the top but without a good reflector (which it doesnt have) the light doesnt even penetrate past the top foilage of my shefflera. As soon as I get some extra cash I will...
Sometimes their eye can get irritated and they'll scratch it which is ok if its right after a mist but if they keep doing it through out the day it could be an infection. Just keep an eye on him.
Well ive seen a couple of ppl get pretty hasty on this forum but they usually put themselves in check when they realize were only trying to help. With that being said, "and I do worry about the cham" is there any way idiots like dropanuke can be booted cause obviously he is stuck in his ways...
thanks for the info tkil. as for the plant light one should be good enough huh! cause i was thinkin about using two plant lights just to be sure the bottom of the plants get enough light too.
yeah ive tried so many times lookin for fixtures at lowes and hd but the only ones i could find were either 4 ft. or t12 models. which now that i built my drain table i actually need the 4ft. one to stretch across for both cages.
