Training a cham. to eat from a bowl?

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. Anyone have any surefire ways to get a chameleon to eat from a feeder placed in it's enclosure? I've been trying to get my little Gratch to eat from a feeder that I fill with crickets every day, but so far things aren't going so well. I've never...

The name 'Gratch' is from Terry Goodkinds books! Gratch, in the book, is a vicious bat-like monster that eats people.... Well, sort of. A co-worker suggested the name, and it stuck!

Chameleon enjoys the taste of dirt? Try this....

Aaaaah, that's morbid.... The rocks I am using are far too big for any cham. to eat, I'm sure. With the screen I don't have to use nearly as many rocks so my planter weighs quite a bit less. The screen was rinsed with soapy, hot water before I tossed it in...

Chameleon enjoys the taste of dirt? Try this....

Not sure if anyone on the forum has tried this so I figured I would share.... Didn't want my cham. eating the coco coir in my planter pot, and I didn't want to use too many rocks to cover the stuff. I ended up covering the area around my plants with screen from Lowes, and then put a few...

    Treating water?

Hey guys, hope your all doing well. Was curious as to what everyone does with their water. Mine- from the tap- is relatively soft, but I let it sit out in six 1 gallon jugs so it goes stale before using it. I've sprayed my frogs directly with the stuff for months, and months and it makes them...

I built it, Grass cage flooring!!!!

I use a sort of blue grass in my frog tank.... Pros: Grass naturally disposes of feces, small waste matter, keeps humidity up, retains lots of moisture.... Cons: You'll need a very tiny lawn mower to mow it, if you don't have enough soil underneath the roots it's going to die very quickly...

    First chameleon enclosure! Please evaluate!

I'll ditch the brocoli, etc. and try to find some decent collard greens tonight. The cricket box has two small cutouts covered in screen. So does the dubia box. I have regular 60 watt house bulbs in the garage I think. I'll change the light and misting schedule in a minute or two. The chicken...

    First chameleon enclosure! Please evaluate!

Having trouble uploading photos so I'm going to make this quick. First Cham. enclosure. 48"H x 24"W x 24"D dimensions, large, coated mesh. Going to partition it with large gauge, coated chicken wire soon- pretty damn sure chams. couldn't get their head through the stuff. Plants are fake...

Worrying a bit about my Schefflera....

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. A bit ago I bought an Schefflera from Lowes and wanted to put it in my chameleons enclosure, but I just read that most of them are poisonous.... The thing was on sale so I just had to get it. Maybe it isn't poisonous? Anyone have any experience with the...

    Straight to Ambilobe? Thoughts?

I live up in Idaho- It generally only ever gets up to 100 one or two days out of the year. I'm more worried about my AC kicking on and fluctuating the chams enclosure temp.s too much. I don't think the room would ever cool off quick enough or long enough to give him respiratory problems...

    Straight to Ambilobe? Thoughts?

This is good information to know.... I would have never have known they sold wild caught. Your positive they do? At this point I'm definitely going with an veiled, definitely going to put a bit more research into breeders (probably going to go with FLChams), definitely going to get an enclosure...

    Straight to Ambilobe? Thoughts?

Sorry, my writing tends to be to the point and coarse. I just wanted a bit more information than a jab. I had no idea that chameleons were so prone to parasitism. Other than keeping their environment extremely clean and buying feeder insects from a fairly reliable source- in my case PetCo (hope...
