    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

Hi! I’m not great about telling ages so we can let someone else say for sure about that. I’m not so sure I see male coloring on your baby. Are you able to get any pictures that are better lit? And maybe of the back of the foot? I know you said you saw a tarsal spur ( that ‘third toe’) but is...

First baby veiled chameleon, no poop (First post)

Pesto is just adorable!!! I love the name! Urate looks great. You want no more than half to be orange/yellow color. More than that means he is dehydrated. I’m not real familiar with little guys, but I’m pretty sure he needs to be eating more than he is. I’m going to tag in someone else who knows...

Help me find the right UVB light fixture + bulb

I’m not sure what you have already. But I happened to have a double dome fixture from when my guy had the wrong set up. One side I have his basking bulb in and the other I have a plant bulb from Amazon. You can get a 2 pack pretty cheap. It’s not near as good as the long ones, but it works.

    Help replacing plastic plants 😳

Oh awesome! You’re honestly starting off better than lots of people we see come through here. I think you’ll be just fine.

    Help replacing plastic plants 😳

I just want to say hi and welcome! You have some of the best keepers giving you advice, so I won’t really add much at all. You don’t have to rush and move her as soon as your new enclosure comes in. I would suggest taking time when it comes to get it set up just right before moving her over. As...

Little guy having an unusual shed?

Nothing looks out of the ordinary to me. As they get older, they begin to shed in ‘parts’. They may shed their limbs one week. Then another week or two shed their head. Then their back etc… as long as any stuck shed is not constructing blood flow, just let it be. My guys has flakes that stick...

constantly scratching at enclosure to get out!!

Thanks @MissSkittles! You are much much better at these anyway. I was totally gonna do this Friday evening, but I came home from work sick as a dog and ended up in bed 🙃 working in a school is like working in a Petri dish.

Beman, Rest in Peace my little love. June 2018 - February 9th, 2025

Oh I am so so sorry. My heart aches for you. I know he would thank you if he could. I teared up reading your lovely tribute to him. You and Beman are and will continue to be an inspiration to so many, including myself. He could not have had a better keeper. And I mean that. You went above and...

    Gutloading Schedule?

Some bugs come gutloaded I believe. Depends where you order from. But don’t quote me on that. I make gutload ‘cubes’ and freeze them. I make a big batch and just feed my bugs on the days I don’t feed my Cham.

Health check: wet poop, orange urates, and dull skin on head

Beman is giving you the best advice. I just want to chime in and say take a breath. I’ve read your posts as you’ve made them and to be honest, you’re doing much better than a lot of people. I know how frustrating it can be. I have a veiled. He is my first reptile. It was a huge learning curve...

    Eating leaves…stripping plants bare…

Here’s some photos of Spaghettis victims. The last one has the murdered umbrella Kant on the background.

    Eating leaves…stripping plants bare…

I will add that with Spaghettis previous keeper, he had only fake plants. He never ate any of them according to her. Once I got him and he started feeling better, he started eating his live plants.

    Eating leaves…stripping plants bare…

Spaghetti seems to have some plants he likes more than others. He has completely stripped a small money tree. That’s his favorite. He also loves pathos and monstera. He doesn’t strip them bare though. They always always always have bite marks and chunks missing. I will search my photos as I’m...
