:)Hey guys I'm back! I've been drowning in school work for the past month and have been MIA on the forum, but I've managed to wiggle some time in.
I am interested in purchasing a Female panther for my male,Socrates and was wondering if anyone knows any of the breeders that are going to be in...
Hey Everyone sorry I've been missing in action. 2nd semester has started and with all this studying I barely have time for myself. I will be posting up a thread on some new additions to Soc's freerange as SOON as I can.
In the meantime I've been working on a 10 gallon vivarium for some dart...
Thanks guys!!! But I heard the silicone 2 has moldicide called "bioseal" and that the silicone 1 does not. Any input would b great. Also planning to make some vines and coat them in the silicone . Does that sound ok? I've never heard of people making vines out of the stuff but I'm willing to...
Also found another silicone called eco- bond. but again not sure and want to double check that it will be safe.
If anyone has any other materials they used on a background please include them it would be very helpful. Thank you.
Hey everyone. I was doing some research in building a background for the wall behind my chameleon's free range and I decided to go for it!
I just want to check that everything will be non toxic and there has been a lot of controversy on what silicone is non toxic. Some say GE Silicone 1...
Awesome work!!!!!! and what great news. I think this incident gave us all a scare at how quickly and easily chams can get hurt. Because of this I screen canopied my heatlamp and uvb to make it impossible for my cham to reach. Congratulations and keep up the good work. Lets all keep our fingers...
Thanks, he did this as soon as I placed the plant in his freerange. He seems to notice everything new I add to his set up and immediately crawls over to explore it. And of coarse taste it :D
Just a funny pic you guys might enjoy.
Socrates meeting his new umbrella plant and shaking hands.
If he could speak I think he'd say," Hello my good sir, pleasure to meet you".
Make sure the plastic on the inside of the bottle is smooth and won't allow them to climb on. And I also have my cricket cup near the heat lamp. I'm sure you have seen crickets loose in the cage climb right up to the heat lamp and hangout there. I wonder if this has anything to do with the...
Yup they are all fake and just used hot glue to put them on the bottle.
And if the cup ever gets too dirty just take off the cap and run it off in hot water. Most of the poop just naturally accumulates around the inside of the bottle cap anyway so super easy cleaning. I Liked how you put what...
I agree DIY is the way to go if you want to keep your wallet fat!
EVERYTHING in my chams set up i built myself. From the cricket keeper to the ladder to the bamboo hut even the screen canopy. And saved a Ton doing this. But im afraid there is no way to cheap out when you are dealing with...
Not sure you will find them online. I know i know you can get the same sized pvc pipes @ home depot and cut them to size and cap them off. This also may be cheaper than buying replacement tubes. Just be sure to scratch the inside of the tube so the crickets can climb up. Otherwise they won't...
In my honest opinion the orange cubes are garbage. But those are just my person thoughts as for guloading you can never have a complete gutload or go overboard with variety of things to feed your crickets the more the better. Best thing to do would be chop up fruits a veggies and throw them in...
Thanks. I'll snap up a picture as soon as he crawls back in there  haha. and I will post up pictures as soon as set up his new live plants :).
Here he is having some snacks and just chilling on his ladder.
Deff annoying but here's how I got around it with a few things I had laying around the house.
1st I hand feed Soc at least 3 large crickets a day and then place a few more in his Cricket cup so he can eat whenever he wants for the rest of the day. The crickets in his Cricket cup usually don't...
Already on it! The right side of the wall I am planning to put a large pothos plant and umbrella plant, as well as placing a ficus tree outside of his are which I will give his access to via the wooden ladder only when I'm around. so he doesn't wander too far.
I was told he's about a year...
Looks good but I don't see any mesh or cardboard inside the cricket cup / Feeder. Without it the crickets wont be able to climb up and will sit near the bottom of the feeding cup.
Here are some pics of mine. I usually leave a few crickets in the entire day. I have yet to have a cricket escape...
