    I know that chameleons don't like being handled much. How often do you guys handle your's. My 9 month old female puffs up and hisses at me every time I open her cage to feed or mist her . Is this normal? I don't try to hold or handle her ever . I just feed her , clean the cage , whatever I need...

    What kind of basking light?

    I live in the BEaumont area and a regular 75w incandescent bulb should be fine in that size cage .I Use a 90 watt in my 24x24x42. Works fine.

    Basking hot enough?

    I have a thermometer from petsmart that is stuck on the screen nearest to the basking spot. It registers in the low 80's while lamp is on.

    I recently got a 9 month old female veiled. She was in a 20 gallon aquarium , so I built a 24x24x42 screen enclosure using aluminum screen. Now she is climbing to the top closer to the basking lamp . The temp at the highest branch is 80 degrees. Do you guys think she is trying to get higher...

    Basking light question

    I just purchased a year old veiled chameleon . The guy that I bought her from had her basking light on a timer for 12hours a day. Is this sufficient or should I leave the light on all the time? Thanks for any advice.
