    My chameleon sucks at hunting?

4 days isn't that long. He is probably still getting used to his new environment. Try cup feeding. Put a small cup by his basking spot with his feeders in it. Once he's used to his new surroundings he may start to hunt. Untill then I would cup feed. It allows you to monitor how much he is eatin...

    Why do you keep chams?

I was never a big fan of lizards or any reptiles. Then I saw a little tiny veiled and thought it was the coolest looking thing I'd ever seen. I love how they look but I also like that they are slow movers. One reason I didn't care for reptiles is because how fast and skittish they are. The slow...

    Mistreating a chameleon

When I bought my veiled from a local pet store the girl working there told me she has one and that she flies him around the house like an airplane. I can only hope she doesn't tell everyone this is how they should be handled. I can only imagine the fear of that poor little guy.

    Hanging suggestions?

I would hang it just like your thinking of hanging it. I might use chains instead of string though. Idk how hot that fixture gets but chains will not dry out or get brittle from the dry heat.

    Weak show

Idk if any of u in the Denver area went to repticon but what a waste of money. Maybe I'm a chamelion snob but they only had 4 yes 4 chams there. 1 veiled 1 panther and 2 Jackson's. Idk how repticon dose in other states but here it is not worth the $10 admission fee. The whole thing was maybe...

    Outside wood?

I am building a new outdoor range for Fire, I was going to use a tree trunk I just cut down as part of it. I just wanted to know what I have to do to the trunk to make it safe/ clean for him?

Lethargic and won't use his front arm

If your cat is that curious about him I would move him to a room you can close him in. Just the cat sitting in front of his cage could really stress him out. The cat climbing or falling on or in to the cage will absolutely stress him.

    Handling my new Cham.... Help!!

It sounds to me like your trying all the proven methods. It takes time. Keep trying the hand feed and free range IMO these are the two best methods to losing him a bit. I've had my male veiled for 6 months an he still doesnt let me pick him up. He will hand feed and free range. Just like u I put...

    Moving day

Yes we did move in a truck. Fire did awesome I left him in his cage and he still fell asleep. He was the very last thing to leave my old house. I got him out of there around 7 pm wich is right about his bed time. Thanks for the tips on moving him. But last time when I took him to the vet and put...

    Moving day

He will be riding in the front with me. I just took him to the vet abouta week ago. I did put him in a smaller enclosure but this really seemed to stress him. It took about five days for him to even start hand feeding again. I appreciate tha advice. However this time I think I'll roll the dice...

    Moving day

My wife and I just bought a new home. Today is moving day. I was wondering if the move will stress Fire. His cage will still be the same but the surroundings diff. I was hoping since he will be moved in his cage that the new surroundings would have little effect on him.

I'm new and worried about my veiled's eating...

Try as many different types of feeders as you can Dubais, worms, cirx. What ever you can get. See what she will eat then start mixing up. She may just be picky. She looks beautiful. One of the prettiest females I've seen. Hope she starts eating soon.

    New to Veiled

Are you trying to feed these things to your Cham? Some will eat greens and carrots and such but most won't. At least mine won't. You need to feed theses things to your crickets so they can deliver to your cham

    Is it normal?

I have a lot of trouble with humidity as well. My cage stats at about 30% and will rise to about 50% while misting. I mist every hour for that reason. However my guy has shed 3 times in the 6 months I've had him. I don't know if humidity promotes the shed but I do know it helps to remove it...
