Moving day

My wife and I just bought a new home. Today is moving day. I was wondering if the move will stress Fire. His cage will still be the same but the surroundings diff. I was hoping since he will be moved in his cage that the new surroundings would have little effect on him.

I don't know who you are planing on moving him but I don't know if I would recommend leaving him in his cage during the ride. He will be stressed during this time and every little bump could cause him fall to the hard bottom. I know he won't like it but I think placing him in something smaller, dark and having a soft bottom that he can hang on to might be a better alternative.

He will be riding in the front with me. I just took him to the vet abouta week ago. I did put him in a smaller enclosure but this really seemed to stress him. It took about five days for him to even start hand feeding again. I appreciate tha advice. However this time I think I'll roll the dice on moving him in his cage. I wll put a couple towels at the bottom to be safe but we only have to travel about 20 miles

You can minimize the stress.
Are you moving him in your car?
If so, I would put him in a small, dark critter keeper so he can just sleep through the ride.
Then put him in his cage when you get there.

Yes we did move in a truck. Fire did awesome I left him in his cage and he still fell asleep. He was the very last thing to leave my old house. I got him out of there around 7 pm wich is right about his bed time. Thanks for the tips on moving him. But last time when I took him to the vet and put him in a small enclosure and covered it. He wouldnt even look at me for a week.

My cham is particular about how he gets moved around too. If I'm traveling by car and it's sunny out, I can actually hold him. He likes the sunlight through the windows and he gets real active and brightly colored. But if I travel any other way besides car, I definitely put him in a small enclosure with something to hold on to and keep him in the dark. With this method though, my cham does the same thing and gets mad I put him in the enclosure in the first place.
