I am in temperate southern New Jersey, its certainly not cold and my Chameleon is moving around still. Thank you for the food advice, if he wants to eat ill try and take him outside. He is still a little grump, and may not take to kindly to the idea. My only concern is that there are a lot of...
My area has recently been subjected to a potetially long power outage. It has been 2 days already and may go for as long as 5. The good news is that it is summer time. My question is, how cold is to cold for the veiled chameleon? Right now its not too warm outside, 81 high 64 low. In the room...
Ive never seen mine drink either, I mist by hand so I guess he is still paranoid about me being right there, but the urates are almost exclusivly white so he is drinking either the droplets or from his dripper. He hand feeds wonderfully though so I dont get it lol. Strange creatures
Going to see the vet is never a bad idea, this forum isnt an alternative to vet action but it doesnt look like a MBD case to me, as always keep up the calcium suppliments and id say see a vet id your really concerned
My Veiled chameleon wont stop moving from the moment he wakes up until its bedtime, with the exception of basking. I have two huge vines and a bunch of dowels in the enclosure and he still climbs on anything steady, once I convince him to come outside and play I am going to add even morr dowels...
My chameleon is named Pascal, after the protagonist chameleon in Tangled. My girlfriend and I were watching it when I managed to convince her to let me get one and she loved the name. I like it as well but it is quite popular from my experience of reading the forums.
I am new chameleons but id recommend that you set the light on at 6 so you can spray at 6:45, having the light on will keep the water from chilling your chameleon, especially if they get soaked. Then just spray when you get home again so there will be time for the enclosure to dry before its...
Im still new myself but id suggest potentially more climbing vines or branches, my veiled chameleon literally climbs on everything so I added more wooden dowels to accommodate.
Pretty awesome that your cham enjoys being on the couch :p im going to place in another dowel in that area just incase he did get himself stuck. Thanks so much for the quick responses!
My new chameleon, Pascale a veiled, has been in the same area every time ive checked on him the last two days and im worried he may have gotten himself into a position and cant figure out how to get out. However since he climbed up to the vine he is on im under the impression he should be able...
I havnt had Pascale 3 days and he continously is just staring at me, he has warmed up a lot and is doing great in his nee enclosure but he always has at least one eye on me. I think its half defensive and half wanting more worms.
Pascale my new male veiled chameleon has arrived! So far I have given him a misting and put in some crickets that have been dusted, I dont expect him to eat just yet after the move stress but ill be happy if he does. He came right out and traveled around his enclosure getting to explore it and I...
Thank you everyone for your help this is an exceptional community and I look forward to being a part of it. Im very much looking forward to getting my veiled soon :D:D:D
I actually have a back up 100watt incase the light breaks and to upgrade when the chameleon is an adult as males need slightly higher temps. Thank you so much this was fun to build and im looking forward to a little guy:D in there!
Okay so Here we go, there are two pictures down below of the enclosure, I have one vertical dowel and 4 horizontal dowels, two large vines that move above and below the planted pohtos plant that has rocks blocking the soil, and 3 large fake vines that provide foliage to hide. The humidity is...
Thats actually very clever, I have already secured the branches in there so I wont tear them up but does the branches you have anchored by the pipes sway or move at all when your cham moves on them?
