I agree with everything posted so far, fecal is a good idea. With the foods you are feeding it does seem abnormal for urates to be that runny(I only see runny stuff when feeding silk or horn worms).
Temps are too high, especially the basking temp. These guys like it cool that's for sure. I...
You said that he looked a bit thin when you got him, but it can be hard to say, to me all babies look like stick-man dinosaurs lol. I've seen a couple cases where breeders crowded their baby cages, and some were not getting as much food as others, that means not as many vitamins too, so could...
Everything sounds good, except the basking spot and the ambient temperature. Low 90's for basking is way too hot for a Panther, should be around 85-87, my guys prefer around 84-85. There should be temps as low as 70 in the bottom of the cage in the day, and it's ok for them to dip into the 60's...
You won't believe it...
Hey everyone, just another update for my Lil Blue. Last round of medicine cleared up the infection. Eyes have been clear for a couple weeks now. Been feeding Emeraid by syringe. We had a check up last weekend, and now we're just trying to heal up the crater on his head...
I'm not sure if petunias are on the safe plant list. I've wanted to put some in my terrarium because they do so well. As you can tell by having them in the window, they love lots of light and water, which sounds like it would do well in our brightly lit terrariums.
I'm sure you "deadhead"...
What you need to do is research the prices here in Canada. First, see what other private breeders are selling at, and then your local stores, there will be a difference in the retail prices. Mark up can be anywhere from 25%(which is low, and don't go any lower than that), to 75%, depending on...
This is a great idea, you are very talented! Not only is it a neat idea just for art, but also as a memorial to chams we have had. My guy Big Red isn't all that spectacular looking, but unique colouring. It would be nice to have one made of him.
Thank you everyone for your input and good wishes. I hope this round of meds does the trick.
My friend explained to me how dehydration is found in blood work. Thank you for explaining it for everyone to read, very clear and easy to understand. I was so frustrated with that other vet, just...
Update. Lil Blue sure is a tough feller. We just got back from the vet. A good vet this time, where I should have taken him in the first place.
Blue still hasn't eaten since November. The growth was irritated slightly by the baytril, but returned to its normal size after a week. Since his last...
Check out reptileexpress.com, I know they have some videos on how to ship reptiles. ShipYourReptiles is another one. These companies usually do the work for you, and even send you the correct supplies for what you are shipping. From the research I have done on shipping, who ever you are shipping...
Camchem - private message me. I have experience with this company, and although it isn't all bad, this isn't the BOI, and would prefer not to explain my dealings with them on the forum. I will also direct you to my new supplier, who I am very, very happy with.
I got mine from a pet store, who had ordered them from a Canadian importer. My 3 horn pairs were $375, and for here that is a great price. Ordering online isn't such a bad thing, it's just finding someone reputable to order from. Google some pet stores for your area, or even go into your local...
Both the Mellers and Deremensis are beautiful, good picks :-)
Both will be wild caught, not too many captive bred that I hear of. Occasionally they are available though.
In February I purchased 2 mellers, and 1.1 Deremensis. I got them all the day after they arrived at the pet store(I did my...
Thank you very much:D
The whole cage is made of PVC. The frame, if you're referring to the stand, was made out of angle steel with the holes in, so it is adjustable, then painted. I'll dig through my pictures, pretty sure I have build pics along the way.
Addicks - thank you for the nice comments. Each cage is 2' x 2' x 3' tall.
Decadancin - thanks - I will be posting probably next Monday the 2' x 2' x 4' enclosure. The first enclosure posted here, the 2'x 3' x 6' Long, took about 3 weeks, but only because there was technical difficulties...
Hi Happy, you're right, my video isn't that great, first time ever uploading a video to youtube so I just picked one. At the back of the enclosures is a dripper nozzle, which I think I'm going to switch to a misting nozzle. The nozzle at the front of the enclosure is a mister, it just has lots...
I've seen peel and stick vinyl tiles at the dollar store. We are thinking of using them in a camper truck floor, and our friends used it in their trailer as well. Looked good. Cheap and easy, and should last for the remainder of your time at the house.
