hi guys.. so my female veiled died this morning... i tried my best.. i really did... i called all the vets here and none of them could cater to her..
i already extracted the eggs..
what could i do now? is there any chance that the eggs could be fertile? she was kept with a male veiled for a...
im using damp soil since i dont have access to playsand.
i made it not too wet and not too dry (i read somewhere it should be sorta like ice cream texture), the tunnels seem to be holding up well, but her face does get all muddy after. i mist her until she is clean.
do you think soil got into...
Hi, so my (around 5 month old) female veiled last week showed signs of having to lay her eggs (not eating, egg shapes near her tail, wandering at the bottom of her enclosure, etc).
so i decided to prepare her laying bin using some soil (i dont have access to playsand)
i predug a tunnel in the...
no, i havent placed one yet
do you think she might be gravid?
i checked for the signs but it doesnt seem like she is :(
but i might just go ahead and leave one, just in case
hi guys,
I noticed that she hasnt eaten much the last 2 days, maybe just a supeworm, or a dubia. Before, she ate like crazy
this is her color now
is it still normal? she used to be just plain green
okay, thank you! im monitoring her and she's eating, drinking, and pooping well. hopefully shell grow to love her new cage..
she suddenly developed green and yellow spots today, but still mostly brown base
Hi! I previously started a thread wherein i was keeping one male and one female veiled chameleon in one enclosure
both are around 4-5 months
I finally managed to build another enclosure for my female veiled, complete with her own uv light and basking lamp, also has a small ficus and a bunch...
yeah, i decided to just buy another UVB bulb for the smaller cage so i can keep it inside, i dont have space for a basking light though
i read from jannb's blog that female veileds dont really need a basking light (or she doesnt really use it for hers) so im hoping this will work for now
im...
it actually has a screen top, but yeah, im closely monitoring the temps of that one outside using a digital hygrometer, making sure the temps are around 80-82F.
I read from Jann's blog that female veiled dont really need a basking light, so i might just buy another UV light for the smaller cage...
i actually attempted that, but with just one potted plant insided coupled with twigs branches and plastic leaves, it was difficult to put a divider in the middle :( unless i used 2 separate setup of plants per side
hi guys,
so here is my dilemma, we were originally getting just one veiled chameleon, but ended up with two. one male and one female, they have been together with 3 other chameleons in one enclosure (therye all siblings) in their breeders home. theyre around 4-6 months.
all our preparations were...
oh sorry about that jann!
yup im using one basking bulb, 60 watts, temps in the basking spot is 88-90F and 83-85F with the AC turned on, he still lingers at the bottom either way
im just scared that he is nit getting the UVB he needs, i usually mive his cage outside every afternoon when its...
yup, using just 1 heat lamp, 60watts, the temp at his basking spot is around 88-90F, with the AC on, its around 83-85F, but he still lingers at the bottom under leaves (fake and real)
really? cool! if he says 10.0 is fine, then im gonna upgrade asap hehe
is there a big difference in terms.of reach if its the bulb type or the t8 type? ( dont wanna waste the twin dome reflector by using just the basking bulb on it)
i think he's around that age, im not too sure though, is 85F a much better temp? cos i read that veiled preferd 85-95, so i figured id put it in the middle hehe
hi l! thanks for the response, its the bulb type 5.0 26 watt one, im.actually tempted to switch to the tube style however im scared that if he does go to his basking spot, the 10.0 might be too much? or is it still okay? will the 10.0 penetrate the foliage more?
its a veiled btw, and the temp on...
