    Calm Colors

My boyfriend just bought me a baby veiled chammie yesterday. He noticed that I fell in love with the little boy when I put my finger up to the glass, and he was trying so hard to climb onto it that he would follow my finger! Watching him do that made me love him right away because my old boy (he...

    Infection in Veiled Cham?

When I first got him, I used a dripper, but it made a mess. How can I set it up best to remove messes?

    Infection in Veiled Cham?

Hello all, I’m concerned my veiled has an infection, but I’m not sure what type of infection and I worry he has a renal issue. Once or twice a week for two weeks now I’ve tried giving him 2 medium hornworms to make his urates whiter, but it has barely worked (I’ll keep trying). In addition...

Do healthy Chameleons ever pass urate only?

And yes! Look for deficiencies and what appear to be bent or broken bones! Falling off of a leaf can also be poor judgement on the chammy's part XD

Do healthy Chameleons ever pass urate only?

You're most welcome! I do agree that the falling issue is a thing to keep a close eye on. Chameleons have very small bones that can easily be broken. However, they fall in the wild, too! They will even intentionally fall if they feel threatened by something that could potentially eat them. But...

Do healthy Chameleons ever pass urate only?

You're doing fantastically with your chammy! Urate-only defecations are normal, especially for a hearty drinker. It is common for veileds (and other chameleons, I believe) to actually defecate feces once or twice a week, or more or less depending on temperature and humidity and food type...

    Not the right place but...

If you want to try and get them to go away, remove calcium dishes and see if that helps. If your gecko is overweight, cut back on food and they may go away. Either way, they're not in any immediate danger.

    Not the right place but...

Some do and some don't. And sometimes these deposits will go away and return. It just depends on the circumstances! No need to worry, I have 3 leopard geckos ;)

    Not the right place but...

That should be on both sides and they are completely normal! They're just a place your gecko stores extra calcium, vitamins, what have you. Perfectly normal!!

    Further Casque Concern

His casque is quite swollen. I'm just not sure if the vet trip is worth stressing him out over. He doesn't like being handled and I don't want the stress to weaken his immune system. My exotic vet is an hour away so that's 2 hours of driving in a carrier and probably an hour at the vet's office...

    Further Casque Concern

Here is today. I'm not concerned with the skin that's sloughing off, as I know that's normal for a burn. But this bruising area is my concern. Especially that little red bit. I've also uploaded a pic from top view to show there is some difference in swelling on either side. I have concern for...

    Further Casque Concern

No, I'm worried about the bruise-looking area that was not previously there. The area circled in red showed up yesterday. The one taken soon after the burn (from this side view, not the side where the burn was worse and more noticeable) was before it looked like a bruise. That was July 5th.

    Further Casque Concern
