It is made of plastic, so I could probably put some holes in it using a drill bit. That would probably work for maybe running some zip ties through it or something to attach it to his vines, maybe. Good idea!
Although attaching it with zip ties would make getting it out to clean it hard, so...

Did you ask Home Depot if they had any umbrella plants? I was just able to pick one up for my cham on Monday and they had tons of them there, so hopefully yours would have one. They may be seasonally stocked items, I'm not sure, but I'm in VT so hopefully if mine had them in yours would as well.
