I would say the substrate was less moist if anything and eggs the same size or smaller. They stayed small for almost 7 momths then grew quickly to the 10 months we are at now. Thank you all for your help, even if none make it at least I know I did all I could. should I only open the ones that...
The 80 last year was 3 different clutches! Two of those babies were not seperated soon enough and the result was this clutch of eggs( about 6 to 8 months of age). I must admit, I did not watch the humitidy as much as I did last year, just felt it would be the same, same with the temperature...
Well I tried to open 3 more eggs all still dead! Fully formed little babies this is awful! I will not have any more my male is too old, I wish I could have saved just one to keep his blood line alive. I may try a few more eggs in awhile
Thanks for the concern
The others started at 7 months but one of the others took 8 or 9 months.
I did read somewhere that it can take up to 12 months, but that is what I think too, they got too weak maybe. I just do not know if I should try and cut out all of them now or just wait them out?
any suggestions?
Any suggestions? I tried letting the eggs sweat for a week, dead. I tried cutting one out after 2 days of sweat dead. Only think I can think is that the 10 month old eggs, shells too hard or rubbery, or babies too weak?
I had a clutch of 80 panthers hatch fine last year did not loose one! I only had 30 this year and they are all dying before they hatch. They are now 10 months and started sweating a few weeks ago. I tried cutting some out they are fully formed but dead? now the last of the eggs are sweating...
Thanks for the help. It is late on Sat and no vet open. Also, I just had a grandbaby born last night and very busy. Bad timing! I have been giving her warm sink baths for a few days which may have stimulated the egg coming out today whille I was gone. The vet had told me this last time I was...
My almost one year old female has an egg hanging out of her! She had showed no signs of digging. I have had other females lay eggs, without a problem. Question, should i try and pull them out of her? She has not eaten for a week and will not dig. I dug a hole but she will not stay in it...
No I do not what her weight was but it is now 1.3oz. Ok I will not cut back on food and will increase calcium but she gets it every day now. It may not be poision, but at her age is she not likly to die after laying?
Thanks I was afraid of that. What are the chances she and the eggs will make it? I had read cutting down on the food may help the clutch size is that OK to do with her age?
I just learned another valuable lession. It appears I left my male and female baby cham together too long! They are just under 5 months old and I was keeping one male and 2 females from my first clutch together. I saw the male on top of the female about 2 weeks ago, and seperated them at that...
