Another vacation thread specific to dubias and feeding automation: a deep dive

In a lot of peoples mind, bug are bugs (although Dubias are the worst for most people). Also, he's a pretty picky eater.

Another vacation thread specific to dubias and feeding automation: a deep dive

I'm planning to be gone for 2 full weeks and did a deep dive on feeding automation. The misting, venting, and lights are fully automated and very reliable, but feeding can't be automated like that. I know that having someone feed my cham is ideal, but after an exhaustive search, absolutely...

I made this chameleon Christmas card using A.I.

You mean a chameleon wearing a scarf isn't real? LOL

    Overly social cham

I've had my male panther for almost 2 years, and the last 6 months he's always begging to come out of his enclosure. When I walk near the enclosure, he often gets on two legs and reaches toward me. He IMMEDIATELY crawls onto a stick when offered. What's up with that? I usually take him out...

    Cricket basic questions for vacation

I'm going to be gone a vacation for 10 days. My enclosure if fully automated except for food. My temporary solution is to let a bunch of crickets loose in my chameleon's enclosure. But I've never done crickets. My guy usually eats dubia's and some BSF's but since they don't move much, he often...

Cheap temporary alternatives to mist king?

MistKing really is the gold standard. Nothing else even comes close.

Spraying when light on or after lights go off.

I have a mostly glass enclosure, and I use exhaust fans to control the humidity.

    Do possums eat chameleons

I just listened to a podcast of opossums. It seem unlikely it would be an opossum; they mostly eat bugs and critters smaller than chameleons.

What to feed besides crickets in Canada? (Dubia roach ban)

Black soldier flies are probably the best in this case

Im bloody confused between reddit and the differing opinions!

This community is awesome and second only to Chameleon academy for accurate information. On the other hand, the Reddit cham community is horrible, just horrible. It would be like getting all your news from twitter.

    Oof... chameleons have gotten expensive!

Reptile shows! I got my juvenile chameleon from an experienced breeder 9 months ago for only $250.

    soldier fly larva confusion

Keep them very cool, but not refrigerator cool. After they turn black and hard, they will be hatching in several days. Unfortunately, since they don't move at that stage, they're not very appealing to chameleons.

First Cham, in the research phase, trying to set up enclosure

Personally, I like glass over screen, but you need to really get the ventilation right and keep the air moving a bit so it doesn't get stagnant. Your uro enclosure is beautiful, but chameleons like branches (which you could add to your existing enclosure)

    Chameleon in Sri Lanka…

Sweet. He really blends in nicely. I'm going to Sri Lanka in a few months, maybe I'll get lucky & see one.
