    Help/feedback on a huge enclosure I’m making

Hi, diy chameleon guys have a great tutorial on the chameleon academy youtube channel about building a drainage layer. You can use plastic corrugate board for the bottom and silicone seal the border. Check out rhe video. Really helpful.

Chameleon refusing to eat, super active and losing fear of me.

I don't have much experience breeding chameleons but have read this behavior can be related to looking for a mate.

    Help/feedback on a huge enclosure I’m making

Amazing enclosure build! 👏. I love how you added the vents near the bottom to create the chimney effect with screen top. Definitely diy a fogger that can accommodate a large enclosure will help with night humidity (watch the the diy chameleon guys on the chameleon academy youtube channel).

When can I start using substrate?

I would only recommend substrate if you're going bioactive. Before using substrate, fecal checks to make sure your cham clear to avoid continuing the parasites life cycle is crucial. Another topic altogether.

    Feeding of when?

Hiya, using a timer is a great tool if you are getting up late in the morning. I would recommend trying a feeder cup also for other wormy type feeders or dubias. It's healthy to have a varied diet other than crickets.

    Isopods as staples?

My Staples are black soldier fly larvae, black soldier flies, silkworms when available, small hornworms and crickets for variety, a couple of waxworms and the weekend for a treat. Chams like treats too. 😋 Haven't seen my carpet cham eat an isopod.

    Isopods as staples?

My only concern with isopods are them walking around the enclosure and possibly able to transfer parasites back to the host. Important to do fecals and keep any parasites in check. If raising isopods in a separate bin, maybe use a feeder cup.

    Carpet Chameleon Enclosure advice!

Hi, great to hear you're getting things ready before bringing the chams home. My understanding is that Leap was sold. Any stock you find online was from left over stock. Hybrid cages are great to help maintain heat and humidity. The focus is air circulation. You want ventilation near the bottom...
