Why are the babies dying from this clutch?!?! PLEASE HELP

No Im not speculating. I was sharing advice that was given to me by someone much more experienced than myself. I dont just say random stuff. I wouldnt doubt that your experience exceeds the experience of my tutor. If I steered this person in the wrong direction, I sincerely apologize. SO... As I...

Why are the babies dying from this clutch?!?! PLEASE HELP

Because they wherent strong enough to push out of the egg on their own and would have never hatched otherwise... To my knowledge, some chams, even in the hands of the most experienced keeper, will only live maybe 2 years if they are from a weak clutch or not strong enough to push themselves out...

Why are the babies dying from this clutch?!?! PLEASE HELP

Nah man. If you cut them open and they happen to survive and be sold, it wouldnt be fair to the buyer because they wont live long.

    Reptivite and calcium. How much?

I hate to disagree with Kinyonga and Sandrachameleon as they have both taught me so much, but I am a firm believer of offering a multivitamin like reptivite which contains pre formed vitamin a specifically to Panthers. I think that some feeders can make the conversion from beta carotine to...

What do you think of these colors???

Looks like a slight case of edema. Ive had a girl with water retention when she became gravid. I would say over supplementing could be the cause. Ive also heard that it could have some thing to do strictly with egg production if the clutch is large and he female goes off food for a while. Edema...

Why are the babies dying from this clutch?!?! PLEASE HELP

Could be a weak clutch... First though was that something got them hatching pre maturely but your bumping up to 9 months and as you mentioned, the eggs you cut open, you observed that most of the yolk sac was absorbed. Candling eggs can trigger them to hatch pre maturely. Ive recently just...

just finished my new set up. what do ya think?

Some chams really perfer to drink from a broad leaf plant... May come in handy one day. It looks like it will hold a lot of water and aid the humidity quite well. Good work.

    Vermiculite or Hatchrite

I like to use vermeculite. I use the coarse one, not the very fine one. I mix it by weight. 5 parts vermeculite to 4 parts water. When I have the mixture down, I zero the scale and weigh the vermeculite and the container. Every month or so, I weigh the container and match the original weight by...

    Anyone from Toronto, Canada?

Hey, Im from the west end... I take mine outside on the weekends for a few hrs at a time when I can. I dont give them a permanent residence outside during the summer though... If your looking to buy a panther, I highly recommend ChromaChameleons, a site sponsor.

my 5 month old chameleon is not eating!!

Hey it is hot for the age of your cham but veiled chams can tolerate those temps at an adult age. I would change the reptile basking light for a clear glass incandescent house bulb. Experiment with 40 to 60 watts to find a good temp. watch for heat spikes in the later hours of the day. Ones your...

When is it normal for babies to start showing color?

No kidding eh? My first clutch is a week to 3 weeks old. Every time a new one hatches out I realize how big theyre getting already. When did the first sheds start happening? Ive got a couple who look like theyre gonna burst out of their skin any day now but nothing yet... none showing any greens...

EMERGENCY! I fear my Cham is failing...

I agree with your vet. I think reptivite with d3 is a great product for chameleons. Ask your vet what their take is on a vitamin a deficiency... Also ask about a safe method for dosing vitamin a... Otherwise, I dont know what to tell you. Good luck

    Hunger strike ...?

Some dont believe in this but I strongly do... Ive seen pics of your cham and the pads are exploding. If I where you I wouldnt let him see food for at least a week. In my experience, offering exotic feeders like moths and dragonflies and such have only made the issue worse...
