11 chams going 350 miles in -12 temps

I can't do this alone! I have worked with a local vet who doesn't know chams to take care of parasites and even URI, but now a cham I have had over a year looks to have MBD. He is fed and housed same as all the others and he is the only one with problems. The best exotic vet is about 350 miles away (all are at least 265 miles) but here we go. I really hate to take him out in the weather for so long a trip but since I am going I am taking all my chams. Any good ideas on this adventure will be helpful. The vet doesn't have 2 hours open until Friday, so all ideas are needed.

When I have to take any reptile, I use a cooler with a heat pack or bottle. It keeps it warm in there but not too hot. I heat up my car ahead of time and hurry into it with the cooler. Maybe mist them also to keep humidity ok. They are much easier to transport than my frogs in the winter, they can take a little lower temps.

this is what i do when i evacuate FAR AWAY from hurricanes. all i do is take them while they are sleeping and wrap them in cotton, put them in a shoe box with lots of holes, and put a hand warmer in with them if its really cold in the car.

Hydrate them well before you leave, but dont feed in the hours prior to leaving.
Shoe boxes are great way to transport short distances (including your 4-5 hour drive). I usually punch a stick from one side to the other very near the base for them to hold onto and keep a rag or facecloth in there too.
Keep car warm, or have little heat packs.
If the car heater makes the air dry, you could put a damp papertowel in the corner of each box.
Keep the gas tank full :)
Drive carefully :)
Let them stretch a bit, one by one, when you get there.

are you turning around and driving right back afterwards?
